I went here before prom. The food and service were both very good. The restaurant had a friendly atmosphere, with everyone being happy and talkative. Our waitress was very kind. The food was affordable and very well made. They also give tasty bread at the beginning of meals with an array of toppings. The Caesar salad was particularly good.. You can draw on the tablecloths: another good, interesting feature.

Although I’d previously had dinners (all excellent), recently we had an 80th birthday dinner party for 21 adults and 2 small children here. Joe and his capable staff were wonderful to work with and took care of everything exceedingly well. Their service (special kudos to Lisa) was outstanding, the food was delicious, and everyone had a good time! Thank you all!

My last visit the food was good (not so my previous 2 visits) and aerving sizes were large. Like many places, 1157 suffers from not enough waitstaff. So if you need another drink, don’t wait, walk to the bar.

A wonderful surprise in Elmira. The staff and food were excellent. The restaurant is reminiscent of the neighborhood places of my youth. A great list of specials and appetizers supports the main dishes and homemade desserts. Glad we stopped!

Probably the best experience in a resteraunt for this class that I have had in a long time. Very clean and lighting was a big plus, they have nothing to hide. I do recommend if you have never been here to try one time.

Lovely experience. We arrived with a party of 9 for dinner. Food was phenomenal ( I ordered a filet) and our server LISA went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful. She took photos for us and was extremely informational with the menu and treated us like family. Thank you LISA and crew!
