The view is absolutely stunning. The food is delicious and was presented well. The server was very slow, even though the place was empty. The coffee was cold and not fresh, just a waste of money. We didn’t go back, though we stayed next door at the resort. It’s a convenient location and next to the Lake, but they should invest in customer service.

Wonder find on Delavan Lake. Arrived at 5pm and had a great table with full lake view. My wife ordered French Onion Soup and Shrimp Martini (Cocktail) along with Cauliflower Au gratin. I had the Duroc Pork chop. The food was outstanding. Server Tim was punctual and polite. Definitely going to return.

Highly recommend dining spot in Delavan. Very nice view of the Lake. The service was great (Tim K), the Walleye was some of the best I’ve had to date and I thoroughly enjoyed the house rolls and Mud Pie dessert.

It’s the Frontier but even prettier. When the crust of the mud pie being hard to fork through is your only complaint, you know everything else is lovely. Wonderful service, delicious breakfast and drinks, and beautiful atmosphere.

A wonderful gourmet breakfast with a beautiful view. Outside dining is available in the summer months. We stop by at least a couple times a month. The food and service is always great. Julia provided an enjoyable dining experience this past weekend. Thank you! Highly recommended.

We arrived early for our reservation so we started at the bar. The bartender was rude and was very short with our group. He made it seem as though we were inconveniencing him. If a drink was not available, he would just say ‘No’, with no alternate suggestions. Once we were seated, the waitress was the bright point of the evening. She was fantastic and did a good job with damage control. The salmon and the pork chop were good. The 2 filets were ordered medium, when they arrived they were as well done as could be (see picture). The burger was good but the egg that came on it was also completely overcooked. Instead of over easy, it was over hard. When the second set of steaks came out, the manager had us cut into it and they were just as over cooked. I felt bad for the manager. He was very apologetic but we didn’t want to go for a third try. When the dessert came, the apple crisp had a very slight char on top and the cast iron pan was hot but the center was only slightly warm. Not sure if we will go back but big props to the waitress who did a great job.

My family and I went here for my daughter’s birthday dinner. It was very high end and delicious. My daughter had salmon, risotto, and brussel sprouts. I had a devine piece of chicken and delicious sweet potatoes. The dessert was great. The service was great. The server was very attenttive and was great with my daughter. All and all it was great food, great service, and a great atmosphere.

Excellent meal. The walleye was cooked perfectly and all of our meals delivered to the table hot. Service was equally impeccable. Great cocktails and presentation. Restaurant has been remodeled and great views of the lake. Highly recommend that you give it a try.

Server not trained on menu. Hostess sat a family next to a large loud wedding party when lots of open tables. Reserved window seat and sat in the back. One hour to get a correct drink ordered off the drink menu. And had no idea what gluten free meant. Won’t be returning.

Walking into 1878, one might easily be seduced by its chic atmosphere and sophisticated decor, expecting an equally enchanting culinary experience. But as any seasoned traveler knows, appearances can be deceiving, and here, the proof is certainly in the proverbial pudding… or in this case, the Wagyu Burger.
