*Note: they do cook with peanut oil* Great food and very lovely staff! I had a cranberry walnut salad with grilled chicken and raspberry vinaigrette which was very large and very yummy! My mom had the cajun fish and shrimp which she said was good and spicy! We also had the house egg rolls for an appetizer which were very delicious served with sweet chili sauce.

The salmon cheese steak was very tasty. The construction was poorly executed. I had to eat it with a fork because, the roll was cut to deep leaving the filling in the container, the lettuce and tomato was soggy under the hot salmon and cheese. The “Southern Salad” fell very short of expectation. I dont really know what made it southern??? It was not Southwestern, it was field greens with an over abundance of grape tomatoes, a modest portion of shredded cheese, a few sliced onions, some tastey crouton, and just barely any real bacon crumbs. Nevertheless, it was all very tasty. The hostess was nice and professional. There was a diverse clientele, and a few people I knew.

Came here with my wife before a show at the Schuster Center based upon the reviews and menu. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was clean and well presented. I felt like we were an annoyance to our server, but otherwise had a great experience. The food was excellent. I got the run glazed salmon and my wife got the fish and shrimp. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious as was the sweet potato cheesecake.

I believe in second chances. Visited for lunch — mediocre — but that was when it first opened. Went again recently for brunch. The grits were watery. The curry sauce was also watery. So liquid that by the time the curry and grits were mixed together, it was a literal puddle, falling off of the spoon like a bowl of broth or cereal milk. Potatoes were fine. The eggs looked/tasted they came from Waffle House (which is fine? but at $14-16 per breakfast plate and $5+ sides? I’d expect fluffy scrambled eggs). The “flavor house toast” — a jagged slice of French bread — was underwhelming —I’d expect more from a “signature” toast. Service was good (only reason for 3 stars), ambiance decent, but all in all the food just does not impress to date.

Great menu with lots of tasty-looking options. It’s a mix of southern American and Caribbean. I had fried okra and jerk pasta, both outstanding. My only “complaint,” if you could call it that, is it was more food than I could eat! Combined with friendly, attentive service, and it was a great dinner experience. I’ll be back the next time I’m in Dayton.

Seating is plentiful for a group of 5 or more, the food is some of the best I’ve had in the area. Flavor House holds up to its name. I got a vegetarian dish and an appetizer for some chicken wings and while I was left wishing I had paid more attention to the menu, the choices weren’t a bad deal. Our server was very attentive and even took photos of the group before we went back to our office. Looking forward to eating here again, a high standard was set and its definitely one of the best places to eat at on this block.

Relaxing, refined restaurant with smooth R+B atmosphere. 111 – Excellence! Had a superb dining experience here, before a show over at the Human Race Theatre/Loft Theatre. Absolutely wonderful all around. The ambiance is classic (hand-laid marble floors; floor-to-ceiling windows) the food delightfully delicious, the drinks, divine.
