Famous is currently closed but this place has employees from famous there and you can get your soft spicy cracklins here!!! We drove from Houston and we were pretty sad that famous was closed but we saw a sign on the building pointing next door to 2 good sandwiches so we checked it out and thank God we did! This was on Feb 27 2021.

Famous restaurant sells pork crackling from this location at $22 a pound. Thicker pieces seemed to be undercooked, but warm and tasty. The Wet & Spicy crackling seemed to be less pieces for the same price. Orders are only done through drive thru due to COVID19. Currently ribeye steaks are selling for $15 a pound…I think that their crackling is over priced and may cause a decline in sells during this already trying time.

The absolute best roast beef sandwich of my life. While their menu is very limited it has given them the chance to perfect the food. The roast beef was savory and suculant, the toppings fresh and the bread was perfectly suited to absorb the flavors without becoming mushy. Truly an artfully made sandwich.
