Very unique and surprising for a small town. We had an awesome experience there! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We heard the story of how they started and Cozad should be very proud to have them in the community. We had a slate with a variety of cheeses and meats, a bread basket, the steak and the pork chop. All of it was very well presented and tasted amazing. I highly recommend this place!

We had a company dinner here tonight, I have to say (as a service professional myself) this was by far the most AMAZING dining experience, unique and welcoming and they deliver the “goods” folks. Let me begin with our server who asked us our names and wrote them down, she said personal service is important… , the meal, Pan Seared Scallops, arrives in style on a stone plate!! Yes a slate!!! So cool I’m gonna die!! Juicy and succulent scallops accompanied by a choice of delectable sauces that paired perfectly to the cauliflower as well, which came in technicolor!!! Simply beautiful plating and very interesting with the caviar on top. Then the cherry on top a choice of two but I chose the Chocolate Hazelnut Custard and I’m telling you people its so smooth and light!! Absolutely marvelous, I drove from Holyoke, CO and it was worth every single mile!! Thank you to the entire staff at 242 House for making magic tonight!!

We were absolutely shocked and ecstatic to find this truly wonderful spot on our recent cross-country road trip! The food is super fresh and absolutely delicious. The ambience is spectac. But perhaps the best part is the lovely staff and owners. It felt like we had stopped at the home of dear friends. All the stars for 242 House!

We came here for the Valentine’s Day 7 course meal. It was absolutely wonderful. Every course was well thought out and paired wonderfully. Every bite was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. The space is beautiful and clean. The staff and the owners are friendly and kind and we had the best service. Thanks for an amazing night. We will be back again.

This was an amazing experience all around. My gourmet burger was the definition of savory. The atmosphere was just as impressive. We were served by the owner herself and she was so friendly and supportive of our table. I will definitely go ago. Tip for first timers: make a reservation.

You know what is more important to me than how the food tastes at a restaurant, it is the atmosphere. The amazing thing about our experience was both were great! First of all, it such a cool looking place with great aesthetics. One of the owners also came up and asked about us and where were from and how we found her place. She then proceeded to just have such fun conversation and let us try something they were preparing for a catering event. If that was all that happened I would have been sold because it was so fun and relational, but the food was so good. Midwest food has always lacked seasoning for a East-coast Italian mouth like mine, but that was not the case here. It was one of the best burgers I have had and also carried such a uniqueness with adding a bacon jam and other options. If I believe something is true I usually say it a thousand times and I have not stopped talking about this place since I tried it. Such a good mixup to such a mundane part of the country when it comes to food options.
