What a beautiful place inside and out. It was a special occasion, and they seated us in a private room. Outside tables are also great with overhead heaters if it’s chilly. A fire pit with comfortable couches. Great bar. Excellent service. Delicious food. This is our third time here, and we are never disappointed.

We just ate here for the first time and had a fantastic meal. The beet salad and clam chowder were excellent, and the Eggplant dish was delicious. The Boltwood burger blew me away- I think it might be one if the best burgers I’ve had in years. Fantastic flavor to the beef.

Definitely high end dining. The cocktails were very good! Service was fast and friendly. The roasted olives appetizer was a surprising flavor but very good! Family.had the scallops – they were ok. Only seasoned on one side though 🙁

lately in my life i’ve decided life is short and i should stop being such a negative reviewer, so i came into 30Boltwood with an open heart and an empty stomach. The restaurant was empty but service was friendly. The bread was scorched and even paired with the butter lacked flavor and for that i subtracted a star with hopes the chef focuses more energy into his menu items. Overall, I found this to be generally true everyone in my party enjoyed their meals, I ordered the Boltwood Chowder. The chowder was good; I would’ve appreciated crackers on the side instead of used as garnish but I recognize that was an error on my part for not specifying. The reason my second star was subtracted was due to a hair in the chowder that I will picture below. Overall the meal was good service was fine and other than a few qualms i would return.

Amherst is pretty variable in its restaurant offerings – sometimes there are some great new places, but mostly not. 30 Boltwood is consistently first class. We ate there on a Wednesday night in June with a variety of food restrictions – one person needed gluten free, another had crohn’s disease and so needed just meat. The staff was understanding and attentive and it was easy. Me I don’t have any food allergies, and had the mussels in a garlicy wine sauce. Excellent, especially with the buttery and garlicky toast that came with it. Thanks everyone there for a very easy and excellent dinner. Just one note, fwiw, the “huge Angus beef burger” really isn’t that big.

An “ok” first experience. Not awesome for their prices/atmosphere, but not the worst experience. Planned a special pre-Valentine’s dinner with my sweetheart. We made reservations, were seated right away. Then – we were ignored (accidently?) for the next 20 minutes – not even water fill-ups. I finally got a server’s attention. And a waiter was with us soon after. But 20+ minutes of no server/water/pre-dinner drinks. They were busy – but this is never a great start to an expensive dinner.

We have been to eat here several times over the years and enjoyed every time. Tonight was even better with some new dishes and new twists on menu standards. There was something special about every dish with unusual but tasteful touches. Like the dried plums on the pork chop (incredibly tasty), or the balsamic reduction with the liver mousse, or tiny, crispy corn flakes on the panna cotta. The chef’s doing a great job, and our waiter has been at 30Boltwood for years and was friendly as always. Really nice job all around.

Beautiful setting, nice people. Food was disappointing. Eggs Benedict were overcooked, hollandaise was separating and cold and the English muffin was soggy. Drinks were lovely and the French Toast was good.

We reserved a table on graduation weekend for brunch. We appreciated that we were offered to choose between outdoors and indoors seating. We chose indoors.
