I wanted to love it but in the end it was very good but not great. I had the “4 Charles cut” Prime Rib, which I assumed would be their best dish. It was good but missing something. It was also just a little too cool and not as flavorful as I hoped. Very good but for the price being charged, it should have been the best.

The hype is REAL! By far, one of, if not the best restaurant in all of New York City. If you’re lucky enough to score a reservation, whether you’re inside or outside (in what still feels like you’re indoors), you’ll be experiencing incredible food mixed with even better service. Highly recommend splitting the burger (fully loaded, of course) and the Prime Rib sandwich as starters. A super slept-on main dish is the Crispy Brick Chicken – super tasty and not too heavy to balance out the rest of the meal. For desserts, the Sundae Royale – trust me.

If you’re ever so lucky to get a reservation here, you are in for a good time! I’d recommend the outdoor seating as its well air conditioned, super clean, and has much better lighting. Came here on a Saturday at 5:30 PM and were promptly seated in the outdoor area and one of the nicest waitresses I’ve ever met guided us through the menu, gave recommendations, took our order, and before we left even offered to take multiple photos of us. Got the burger with added bacon, French dip sandwich, and sides of Mac and cheese and creamed spinach. Everything surpassed my expectations and that burger did live up to the hype. The creamed spinach was made with goat cheese, so I personally was not a fan of this. 4.8/5.

Atmosphere was delightful. Outdoor seating is actually a makeshift indoor area outfitted with beautiful decor, cushioned seats and air conditioning. The side dishes stole the show. Most specifically the spinach. The mashed potatoes and truffle Mac and cheese were also delicious. The prime rib was served one way, rare. I was taken aback because I’m a medium kinda girl. However, it was edible and had a nice flavor.

That was probably the best meal I’ve ever had. The service was outstanding starting with Ian who was working the door and greeting people. When we got to the table the menu was explained perfectly and the waiter gave us suggestions. We ended up getting the French Dip, the Chicago cut, and the wagyu double cheeseburger. We got fries and mashed potatoes on the side. The food was all out of this world. What made it great was that the waiter explained the perfect way to eat each item using the ribs and sauces to get the best flavor. The chocolate cream pie was a great way to finish the meal but then the waiter had the ice cream sundae sent over as well. That was quite the portion. Overall the food was outstanding and the service is unmatched. I look forward to going again if I can get in!

Let me start by just saying 4 Charles Prime Rib is a must dine at restaurant in NYC. While reservations are extremely difficult to come by given the popularity of the place and that it’s actually a very intimate restaurant… it’s absolutely worth the wait once you do get in.

I’ve been here a couple of times and while the brunch is good, the dinner is exceptional and a must try. The dinner menu has the best prime rib that I’ve ever had. I didn’t even know prime rib could be that delicious. The steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked. The desserts were decedent without being overly sweet. Service was astounding.
