While we own a home on Oak Island we are not there all the time. This is the first visit trying 49th Street Grill. It definitely lived up to all we have heard about it. There was a half hour wait, which was not terrible, in the middle of the main beach season here on Oak Island. Every staff member from the hostess, to the servers, to the helpers were all kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. The food smelled amazing from the minute we walked in the door. The menu was small but after talking to the server, there are many things not on the menu that are actually part of the menu. For instance, the menu does not include child options but they do have an entire child’s menu. The food on the menu is a large variety and all so flavorful. I enjoy having choices that are not your normal burger and fries. I tried the Island Chicken and it was amazing! I highly recommend it. We will absolutely be visiting 49th Street Grill again every time we are here.

What a beautiful experience trying this place for the first time on Father’s Day! On a whim to go out for lunch, we ended up here. Boy are we happy we did!! The food was amazing but not only that, our waiter, Devon, was very friendly and gave us wonderful feedback on the many delicious dishes. His display of hospitality was his shining personality along with taking time for each customer. Thank you Devon for our great first experience here. We’ll be back for sure!

Delicious food, good atmosphere! Can’t remember our servers name, unfortunately, but it was the best service I’ve had at a restaurant in a very long time. She had dark hair and glasses working outside. She deserves a lot of praise! Very hard worker and made the experience that much more enjoyable! The tuna appetizer, ceasar salad, and pickle spears were delicious. Wanted to try to avacado bites, but unfortunately, they were sold out. Will give us something to look forward to next time!

An u expected gem! Great service and food. Had the tuna wontons and Island chicken w/ sweet potato tots. The tuna was fresh and the wontons were crispy and flavorful. The island chicken was also very good and the tots were great. Overall very pleased and surprised.

Food was good! They are still working out the kinks. Had an issue on the appetizer but they made it right when we brought it to their attention. Lot of new staff. Give it a try and be patient. Has a lot of potential. I will be back.

The steak bite appetizer with blue cheese crumbs are extremely delicious. Add these yourself to one of their great salads and the combo is explosive. I enjoyed throwing cornhole with my grandson while waiting on our food. Also, embarrassed to say, but got a few good ideas from their decorations too. 100%+ recommend!

Arrived with our dog and they immediately gave her some water. We originally sat on the patio but it started to rain and they converted our order to take out. We had a lb of steamed shrimp which were delicious. We also ordered the pretzel which was amazing! That beer cheese is addictive. Lol. It’s a laid back atmosphere with good food and friendly waitstaff.

Got us in quick with no wait, later on in the evening and stayed open until 9pm. Variety of options for the whole family. Burgers were a hit and liked their home chips as well. Perfect spot for our last night in OKI!
