50’s Snack Bar is a quaint hometown restaurant. They offer a little of something for everyone. It was a recommendation from one of my customers. I found the records and album jackets in the bathroom to be a unique throwback touch. They support the NC HWY Patrol – that’s a thumbs up right there !!!

Fun local diner with friendly, helpful staff. They are open from 7am-2 pm during the week serving breakfast and lunch. Because of limited staff the diner is temporarily closed on Saturday. The breakfast menu has a lot of choices and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed the home cooking and welcoming atmosphere.

Nice diner with wonderful staff/service. Food is standard diner choices (many choices) nicely prepared with generous portions. It’s very clean and updated with plenty of posters, photos and other memorabilia on the walls. Near museum and local river walk as well as local shops and attractions.

One of a few places to eat in town (not counting chains here).

Grew up eating at the 50’s resteraunt and still love to eat there. Great people, fair prices and good food. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

I was so excited to try this place. I mean, how many places have a 5 star rating? (Granted, only 8 reviews, but still.) My excitement mounted when I walked in and discovered that it is clearly popular, cutely decorated, and staffed by an incredibly nice and helpful staff (every single one of them—owner, server, even the busboy—were very polite and accommodating, bending over backwards to meet the needs of the customers). “This is going to be AWESOME!”, I said unto myself.

Got here just in time on Labor Day. The food was excellent, staff friendly and prices were surprisingly low for great spot in the downtown area. This is going to be The lunch stop when we come out for our mountain apple trips.

Ever watch movies and see the local diner where every IYKYK type person who looks like they’ve never missed a meal in their life is at, and if you’re not a regular everyone will eye you for that split second then go on about their business? This is that place in town haha! Don’t let that once I get scare you though. The staff is awesome and super friendly. Take my advice— eat the breakfast. Everything is good. The chicken salad is bomb. The real gem though, pimento cheese on a hotdog (you read that right). Thank me later!
