After being here 5 years I finally was able to try this restaurant. The food was excellent, quantity for the price was good as well. Waitress was professional, friendly and made sure we got what we needed. There was a gentleman singing and playing keyboard which added to a great atmosphere.

Good Q. I like to stop and eat and BBQ joints whenever I travel. Hush Puppies were onion batters which makes for the best hush puppies. Wife and I got the pulled pork plate. Q was almost dry, not moist. Added the house sauce to it, tasty. Got sides of green beans, fried okra and potato salad…very tasty. Wife said potato salad tasted like the kind she makes. Place was clean and wait staff were friendly and prices decent. good size portions. I would come back here to eat.

This place was awful I will never go back I ordered a chicken breast sandwich. Which touted it was served on a gourmet bun with their famous bbq sauce! The server brought my order and what I received was a half of a chicken on a dry bun with no bbq sauce. I asked the waiter why I only got half of a chicken breast. His reply was our chicken breasts are too big! Wait what! So you want to charge me full price but cut the chicken breast in half!! Did I mention that the breast was less than a 1/4 in thick! I told him that was a ridiculous answer. He apologized and I said why don’t you give the customer a full breast and charge accordingly. I asked where the bbq sauce was that was supposed to be on my sandwich. His reply was we marinate the breast and fry it. I also want to mention the owner or manager was going to each table asking how their meal was. She avoided coming to our table. I feel like if you are advertising a product on your menu then that is what you should receive. It didn’t say half of a breast marinated. The overall experience was disappointing and I can honestly say I would not return.

Pulled pork did not have much flavor. The sauce was what made it. The brisket had decent bark, but that was about it. Off street parking was hard to get to, lot was rough. Service was fast, staff was great.

Just left 521 BBQ everything was awesome. Tracey was our waitress and we give her 150 one of the best waitresses we have encountered in a very long time. If you visit there ask for Tracey you won’t be disappointed.

If I could give a minus 10 I would the food was awful…I placed a to go order and picked up around 6:15 pm drove h9me home and sat down to eat…the chicken was like rubber and dry…the onion ring were not fully cooked and the okra was old and tough and not fully cooked..I took the food back the next day and requested my money back…they refused and wanted to know why I didn’t call that night…this wasn’t the first bad food I got there got a bbq sandwich too dry to eat but thought I would give them another try…they wanted to give me more food but I didn’t want more bad food…I would not go back and could not recommend this grill…

Tracey and the 521 BBQ team are awesome. We go here every week or two. Food always great. Large selection of beers. And the service is 5-star every time. Love this place in downtown Lancaster.

Very good bbq. I’ve tried the location in Indianland. This location is downtown Lancaster. Food was very good. Service was very helpful and friendly. Very efficient. I had the combo ring tray with pulled pork. My sides were collard greens and white coleslaw. Both sides were very good. Pork was not dry and had enough smoke.

The pork is great. The menu is limited for sides basically 2 kinds of coleslaw and french fries. The regular coleslaw is the worst I’ve ever had. There are so many BBQ restaurants around here if your cutting back on the fries go somewhere else.

Little late for the review but we ate there a couple weeks ago. New to Lancaster so checking out the local eats. Didn’t know this was a chain so normally don’t expect great bbq from a chain, this was no different. Basic bbq nothing spectacular. Definitely dont have a pitmaster on staff. Have to say the sides were good. Seemed the small wait staff they had for a Saturday afternoon didn’t like each other, lots of bickering in the back that carried into the dining room. But, best of luck. There is bbq for everyone out there.
