A lovely omakase experience with my hubby for my birthday celebration. Food was delicious. The vibe was more casual than the usual omakase. I was hoping the chef would remember my allergy as we reminded him a few times, but I understand. Overall, it’s a unique dining experience in Houston for a date night. Around $400 for 14-course.

Chef Billy was so much fun. He’s passionate and vibrant. We enjoyed his food so much. I liked the variety of cooked vs raw foods. Chawamushi is one of my favorite dishes and I loved that he snuck that onto the menu. Be careful with the cocktails, though, they can be a little pricey and I was not impressed with them. We brought a large bottle of sake and that was much more enjoyable pairing with the menu. Would definitely come back.

This is the best Omakase restaurant I’ve been to. Ingredients were super fresh, preparation was clean and easy, discussions were educative and fun. And Yes, teenage kids are allowed. Very relaxing and non-judgmental experience.

Had a great time at 5Kinokawa. It’s one of the better and more unique omakase experiences I’ve been to. Although to note to any omakase aficionados, this isn’t a traditional edomae style omakase, but rather more of a modern, casual omakase.

Outstanding Omakase! Chef Billy is like a sushi God, for all the foodies out there make a reservation and be prepared to surrender to adventure…knowledge…and laughs while you eat the top selection of the sushi market availability. Also, there is a framed photo of his team…look for it… there is a good reason it’s framed… this crew is dialed in to most natural friendly smooth operating environment… the bar tender was so nice and knowledgeable about the food too!
