Went there for lunch because the menu seemed pretty promising. I had the hummus with pita bread and the chicken shawarma with a side of potato salad. The potato salad wasn’t homemade basically the same stuff from a tub they sell at all deli’s. The hummus was very bland no flavor at all and the chicken shawarma was just ok. I gave them 3 stars because it wasn’t the worst food I’ve ever had, but it definitely wasn’t the best. However, the staff there was friendly. I just wish the food was a little bit better.

I dine here at least 1 to 2 times a week sometimes 3. The menu is varied and offers many options. The beef and chicken Shwarma are fantastic as is the homemade humus. You can’t go wrong with any dish. Breakfasts are great as well as sandwiches from the deli and the grill. Incidentally the home fries are home made. Not shredded.

I have been coming to 5th Avenue deli for over a year and its my go to spot for brunch on a Sunday. Its fairly busy, so sometimes you may get lost in the sauce.

Five of us came in for lunch at 12:45 p.m. They had only one table set up to accommodate more than 4 people so we waited at the entrance to the restaurant for 8 minutes waiting for someone to seat us. We were told by three separate people it would take just a couple of minutes. We finally left. Poor service and we didn’t even get seated. You lost 5 customers and we will tell our friends and family to avoid your location at all costs.

Due to some food allergies, I asked if it was possible to order a cup of chicken salad without any pita. I was told I could purchase the appetizer, but she would check. She asked the manager on duty (Fern) and she loudly replied “Geez it’s only $10, come on”. It wasn’t about the money, it was about not being able to eat most of the items on the plate. It would be wasting their food, if I ordered the whole thing and just didn’t touch the pita. It was completely unnecessary, and I don’t think I asked something out of line. I just was asking to check. So so rude.

Nice service but there is a reason why on a Saturday morning you have no one in the dining room. My eggs were inedible. The pancakes overcooked. Potatoes had no flavor. I enjoy lunch here but would never come back for Breakfast.
