7 Devils Waterfront Alehouse Menu – Coos Bay, OR

Type : Restaurant

Location : Coos Bay, OR

What better way to celebrate the coast than to take in the sprawling Coos Bay views while enjoying the bounty of the sea and soil? Every table has a view of the water, so you’ll have to sit somewhere new each time to choose your favorite vantage point. With two levels of dining, each with its own bar, we had plenty of space to fill. All of the art you’ll see throughout the Alehouse was purchased from Coos Bay artists, the dishware from potters at Alehouse pottery, and the furniture from local craftspeople. Perfectly complementary to the 7 Devils’ beer list, our Alehouse food menu features a heavy-handed provision of seafood caught right here by local fishermen, hauled into Charleston on local vessels.

Based on 241 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$

Symbiosis Fig Stout
The Symbiosis is an annual seasonal stout that we make in collaboration with our good friends at Reach Break Brewing in Astoria, Oregon. This delicious stout is secondarily fermented on 200+ pounds of dried black mission figs, giving the beer a deep fruity character and a bunch of extra sugars, sweetening the beer a bit and bringing up the alcohol by volume to somewhere around 9%.
Coos Light Lager
Our Pacific Northwest take on a classic American lager. Brewed with San Francisco Lager yeast, this light-bodied beer is crispy and crushable. 4.4% ABV, 16 IBUs
Elakha Ale
This crisp otter-brown ale was brewed using Maris Otter malt, giving it a warm, toasty flavor and aroma. We added oven-roasted dulse (edible seaweed) for a subtle umami finish. 10% of the sales will go to the Elakha Alliance’s mission to return sea otters to the Oregon coast. 5.8% ABV, 22 IBUs

Beautiful setting on the waterfront. Everyone’s meal was delicious — the original Rockfish fish and chips as well as the ceviche were standouts. Our server Robert was awesome telling us about the various draft beers and making us some honey mustard sauce from scratch!

We stopped by to try local beer . I tried the endless Summer blonde and the server gave me other draft beers to try, very kind. Beautiful location by the water and good patio for outdoor seatings. We tried the Mac & cheese as part of the 3-5 happy hour and it was delicious .

This place has the friendliest staff! But, the must have is the clam chowder!!! BEST I’VE EVER EATEN!!! The clams were so soft and easy to chew. Perfection in a chowder! The Halibut has to be mentioned… FABULOUS! Beautiful setting overlooking the water. Loved it so much, had to buy a T-shirt!

I was a part of a large group ( about 35 ). We showed up with no reservation and they had a table setup for all of us within 20 minutes. Drink orders were taken and delivered while we waited and all came to us quickly.

7 Devils turned out to be a great find that we stumbled across! The food is great, and the view even better. I was a little concerned since it’s an alehouse (and I’m not a big beer person), but they have a full bar- that makes some wonderful mixed drinks! I started with a cup of house clam chowder. After having some disappointing chowder at a different restaurant the day before, this was an incredible find. The chowder is creamy, with a good blend of potatoes and clams. The chowder alone earned 5 stars. Next I opted for their ribs. They were tender, coming off the bone, and had a great sauce. If you’re in Oregon’s Bay Area, a stop at 7 Devils is certainly worth it.

Nice place, and a friendly waitress. However, the food is not living up to the expectations created by the menu and the waitress. I initially had the “smoked meat loaf,” and I had to send it back, because it was very bland, with a somewhat weird taste. The Cesar salad was at most average, with low-quality ingredients. Next came the ribs: I recommend you don’t order this menu item either. The ribs are badly overcooked and very dry, almost like cardboard. Which cook serves something like this and can still feel good about her or his skills?

One word describes my experience: Salty. Salty food and salty service. Overall the atmosphere was nice, location is beautiful. Menu had a nice selection. My struggle was the food and service. I sat at the bar and the bar tender really had poor customer service. He was prompt with drinks, but complained the whole time to every customer about how tired he was and how much he worked and about other staff and was sarcastic/condescending to other staff. I felt weird even asking for anything. Like a big imposition. The food while good quality and probably could have been good, was extremely salty. All I could taste was salt. I said something to the bartender about how salty the crab cakes were. He just went on a monologue about how he isn’t a cook and doesn’t want to be one. Didn’t even try to address my comment at all. I get it is a small town and good help is probably hard to find. But the service really ruined it for me.
