This is a hidden gem! We wanted some thai food and decided to try this place out. It’s right in the downtown Area of Cranford near the post office. We got the Hot Red Curry Duck and the Grilled beef. This was a really good dish. The duck was a little over cooked. The curry was perfect . It was the just the right amount of spice. The grill beef is not spicy so if u like spicy you will have to ask them for spicy sauce on the side. Also the Thai tea is great too. I recommend this place.

I have to say the food was really delicious especially the duck volcanoes. I would come for the food again but the services was a big no. I came Sunday afternoon which was not a busy time. When I came in, the waitress looked like the restaurant was closed and didn’t welcome us at all. She only gave me a knife to eat and didn’t care about it, I had to find my own fork to eat. I don’t understand why such a good restaurant will hire bad waitress. If possible avoid the terrible waitress and order pick up.

I would probably give 8Thai 4.5 stars, at least 4.25. Everything I’ve had has been delicious. You can definitely tell it’s made with fresh, quality ingredients. The interior is chic, modern, and well-decorated. Where I knock it down a peg is on their portion size. Especially their curry dishes. The other Thai places in the area give you enough to have lunch the next day as well. 8thai barely serves enough to fill you up for dinner. Make sure you ask for extra rice!

Very modern ambiance, good service, BYOB. The green curry and the flat noodles were very good, the fried calamari were good, but too much breading, though nice and crunchy. Parking is very easy on the street or across. Prices are fair. I will be back.

We were happy to find a new Thai place to try out. We tried the crab rangoon, hot red curry duck and the drunken noodle.

Wow! There hasn’t really been a great Thai place in a while and I’m so glad my friend told me about this place!! The restaurant itself is nice and the food was really delicious! Everything we ordered came out perfect and we had zero issues. I would highly recommend it! We ordered the roti massaman app, tom yum soup, red curry with veggies, drunken noodles (absolutely amazing) and pad Thai! My friends also enjoyed their Thai iced tea! Check them out !

We got take out. The drunken noodles, curry puffs and chive pancakes where fire but, the pad Thai was very dry and ungarnished

Food was good but the service was terrible. We came Sunday and the waitress had bad attitude like she was doing us a favor. Never asked if we needed anything so we had to stand up to ask for chop sticks, ice, and when we asked her she ignored us while she was on the phone. If there is no change of service unfortunately I don’t see this restaurant fitting in our nice and friendly Cranford neighborhood.

I rarely write negative or even lukewarm reviews, but I’m writing this so that hopefully it reaches the owner and/or cooks at 8Thai. Thai food has become my favorite cuisine in recent years, so I definitely have solid basis for my opinions, though I have never been to Thailand (at least not yet).

Food did not come as described. My vegetarian pad tai is just noodles & tofu. No veggies at all and it needs that balance. It’s so beige like this
