We really wanted to like this restaurant and the food but unfortunately the food was below par. We ordered Malabar Chicken Curry and Chicken Hara Bara. The Chicken curry looked like they took chicken pieces and mixed with some store bought gravy, no flavor and was really bland. The Chicken Hara Bara was really salty, couldn’t even eat it. Overall very disappointing on the quality of the food.

My mom and I had a delicious chicken Tika masala lunch box. It was $12 and it came with a delicious samosa, lentils, and naan. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The waitress was extremely sweet and professional and the atmosphere was perfect, nice and quiet, great price and great food

I seen the review after ordering the assorted vegetable pakoda.. mine gone worst. They just given the cauliflower dipped in chickpea flower. In no country this is called pakoda, may be cauliflower 65 and definitely it’s not indian. Please don’t scam the customers. Instead of assorted vegetable, may be change the menu into”LEFTOVER VEGETABLE PAKODA” .I also ordered the chats, portions are small( 6$ for pakoda, with 6pieces ,you got be kidding me) not tasty and definitely not worth of price. If you guys run this way, I am afraid only see

I had the Lamb Saagwala which came with spiced boneless pieces of lamb with fresh spinach & mild spices. It was really good; spicy but not too spicy. The restaurant is set up and has a nice ambience. The servers were very nice. It’s great to have a good Indian food restaurant in the area.

I ordered take out , chicken tiki masala, naan, and a side of white rice. I agree with the other reviews that it’s a bit odd the rice or any side is not included but overall I don’t think 22$ is extremely expensive given the price all everything these days. The food was good !! I am not an Indian food expert but I really enjoyed the food and the staff was very pleasant during pick up. I would recommend giving it a try .

Disappointed as I ordered for pickup and was informed when I arrived that this time around my order only included an entree and not a side of rice. I wasn’t informed when placing the order but the hostess let me know when I arrived. I am a repeat customer and was surprise to find myself nickel and dimed, spending over $20 for a container that was mostly sauce and a few pieces of meat. This hasn’t been my experience before at Diya.

White table cloths, china dishes, a charming little restaurant off the beaten track. The food may be the best Indian I’ve ever had. Do not miss the Papdi Chat, a melange of flavors and textures that is nothing less than thrilling. Perfect Palak Paneer. Mild Kadhi Gosht in creamy sauce. Spicy Chicken Masala. And Biryani to “Diya ” for. All of the staff is lovely. The chef, a magician. The prices are very reasonable. Do yourself a favor. Try Diya Indian Cuisine.

We went for Mother’s Day and being it’s a new restaurant it has improvements to make. We ordered pokoras and the potatoes were undercooked and raw. It had no flavor tasted bland. The entrees took so long to come out. And all the food does not come out together, it comes out separately by the time we finished our masala curry the next dish came out. We ordered chicken tikka masala, salmon curry and shrimp curry, they all tasted like the same base which is thick curry tomato. Nothing was different about the curries the same base just different meat and the shrimp was raw 🙁 The rice does not come complimentary with the dishes, which it should cause the prices for the curry makes sense to have the rice to be included with dish. Also when you order soda, they bring it in a small glass. Which I found strange cause they are serving lesser portion of the soda can. Instead of serving the soda in a small glass give the customer what they pay for and bring the soda can and a separate cup with ice.

I went out there based on the reviews. I have been looking for a good indian restaurant since I moved to valley stream. Such a disappointment. I ordered pakoras- which in the menu says assortment of vegetables. Only thing that was given was eggplant and potatoes dipped in batter. Usually when people order pakoras – it has onion fritter, spinach fritter, eggplant, potatoes, varieties of fritters. So if you order pakoras be advise it will be potatoes n eggplant. N it was uncooked. My child couldn’t eat it. We still got charged for two orders of uncooked pakoras.
