Although Skyline was closer, I decided to come to this Gold Star location for dinner… Big mistake… From the moment I arrived at the drive thru speaker I was met with sub par customer service. After waiting a while in silence with no greeting, a man finally asked for my order. However, he couldn’t seem to get it right. Eventually he understood and rang up my order correctly… By the time my food was ready, the same guy had put gloves on and taken some unknown part in making my order, (after previously handling my cash and who knows if he washed his hands first). Then, as he handed me my bag of food I could see it was a mess, with greasy chili all over the handle. In fact, the bag was so messy that he was using the napkins he planned to give to me to hold the handles of the bag and he had to place additional napkins, crackers, and hot sauce in a separate bag. And the guy acted as though the hot sauce was coming out of his paycheck because he only gave me two measly packets even though I had three chili cheese sandwiches plus an order of chili cheese fries… Then, after driving to my destination, I saw that the chili cheese fries were made correctly, (with extra chili and cheese), albeit they were the source of the mess. However, the chili cheese sandwiches I’d ordered were made incorrectly as they had so much chili in them that the buns were super soggy and I couldn’t even pick them up to eat them, (mind you I did NOT ask for extra chili on these)… When I returned to the store to give them the sandwiches back and ask for a refund, the shift leader came to the window and asked what was wrong with an attitude. I explained and then she walked away without apologizing for the mistake and inconvenience of me having to drive back. Then she returned with my refunded amount and once again said nothing in the way of an apology… Suffice it to say I will not be coming back to this location and I’ll gladly give the North College Hill Skyline Chili my business instead, (after all they have WAY better customer service, tastier salads, and better dessert options).

Gold Star Coney and fries yesterday was really tasty service. It was okay. Customer service nowadays pretty much anywhere. It’s not what it used to be. The atmosphere I was in the drive-thru so I really couldn’t tell you about the inside but at the window I sat for a while and no one said hey will be with you in a moment. Of course I know they’re going to be with me in the moment but it’s just the fact that I haven’t paid and I didn’t know how long they were going to be. I almost drove off! But I waited till my food hit the window and I ordered one coney and a fry and it was good and I appreciate it!

We were the only ones in there they brought one plate out at a time but then I gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking they was bringing the rest out and after about 10 minutes I had to go ask where the rest was at they finally brought it out. Then was charged for stuff they didn’t bring us that we asked for initially when placing the order and when it was bright to their attention I was told the manager just left and idk what to do or how to do fix it I just work here you’ll have to speak to him. I just walked out bc they clearly wasn’t going to be off any help.

Multiple problems. First, the hall to the restroom smelled like a blend of rotten meat, body odor, and mixed urine and feces. Second after sitting in a dining area with 2 other customers, I received blank stares from the 6 workers. One eventually asked if I wanted food. I replied that’s why I’m here. I almost asked if they had computers or swimwear. Then another mumbled something but had a notepad and pen in hand. I placed my order, specifying habanero cheese. There was no habanero cheese. Then, when ringing me out, he closed the sale out without allowing me to tip. Oddest experience to date at a gold star.

It was downpouring rain and they had signs up saying fee coneys. As we approach the door we see customers paying for food. Its just seems like goldstar wants to lock the doors more and more these days. What a shame. Me and my family were completely drenched from head to toe.

They have made three strikes with me before I made this post. I ordered my food asked for extra chili because they put so much cheese and mustard you don’t even taste the chili that’s almost nonexistent. Don’t recall ordering cheese dogs and the 3way had very little chili that my family ordered. I’m sorry but this is another establishment that have increased the prices and give POOR QUALITY FOOD AND SERVICE. I’m so over taking my money and giving me trash. This was once one of the best locations at one time.

Stopped by and got a cheese coney for a quick snack. There wasn’t even enough chili on the coney to fill a teaspoon and the amount of cheese was pitiful too. It was like eating a hotdog with a little cheese. Terrible!
