Food (all fairly exotic dishes) was very good, and the service was excellent. Check the menu prices before going (available online) it is expensive but worth it. For some reason, the Three Tequila Lime Creme Brulee had no discernable tequila nor lime but green chile instead, which was a miss for us.

I took my boyfriend Saturday night for his 50th birthday! All I can say is wow!!! I have eaten fine dining all over the world and I told him I’d rank this meal in the top 3 in meals I’ve ever had! We went there a couple months ago and just had a couple appetizers and we’re treated amazing so we knew we had to go back. So I took him as a surprise for his 50th. We Started with the fried artichoke hearts. They were phenomenal. We chose to share one of the daily specials. The 14oz Wagyu New York strip that came with 2 sides. We got the Brussel sprouts and lobster risotto. They too phenomenal. Our waitress told us they had 1 lobster tail left, and asked if we’d like to add it to our meal. Since it was a special date we did it! The steak was cooked absolutely perfectly medium rare throughout the entire steak. New York strips can be tough This was like butter in your mouth. Tender like a filet. The lobster was unlike any lobster we’ve ever had, even better than fresh from the ocean on the coast. Our service was amazing! Our waitress was fun and delightful. My boyfriend joked about a cup of coffee to go before we left, she went above and beyond to find anything he could take coffee to go in and made sure he had his coffee. I was a little worried as we were seated right by the kitchen, which worried me because I usually hate sitting there, but we had super attentive service! The chef and other cooks came by, checked on us, talked and laughed with us! It made for an awesome evening! I see people complaining about the price. People saying they weren’t told the price, you shouldn’t be at a fine dining place if you’re going to worry about that. Yes it was pricey! For 2 with a tip (he had a beer, I had a tequila on the rocks with a splash of water. It was the equivalent of 2-3 shots, lasted the entire meal), the total was just at $400 including a very generous tip. We are just two average simple people, not high rollers, and we were treated like royalty! It was absolutely worth every Penny in my mind!

We were here for a date night and man, the Wagyu special was to die for! We had other appetizers before receiving this, which didn’t allow us to finish it, but it was cooked so perfectly we made some of the best steak sandwiches ever the next day.

We had a wonderful meal at Primus. I had the Bison filet with sauted mushrooms and fuagra,, which was delicious. My wife had the shrimp and scallops. Both dishes were perfectly prepared. We paired our dishes with a well-made Mai Tai. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Our waitstaff was very attentive and made sure everything was to our liking. Dessert came in the form of a house made gluten free chocolate torte and an avocado chocolate torte. Both were delicious!

The food and atmosphere was lovely! We were greeted by the chef. My husband had ostrich just to say he had it and was not disappointed! I had bison and tortellini that was out of this world! It’s a very small venue and intimate. The music is on point. Hands down would visit again!

High end pricing but high end product. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better meal in Durango. Everything we ordered was creative and exceeded expectations. Chef John escaped the Michelin grind of Denver to create this masterpiece in the mountains. We were so blown away by the food he came out to chat for a bit and go over some of what we just enjoyed. Great for the last meal of a trip if you are looking to hang an exclamation point on the end. I went with the Colorado Lamb Chops with Bison Demi, I still dream about them regularly.
