We love Firehouse Subs because of the food, the people they support, and the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. The workers were very nice and made me feel welcome. We ordered and ate inside. I got a medium Italian sub with a loaded potato soup. The sub was as delicious as expected. This was my first time having the loaded potato soup, and it was a little thin and watery. But that’s not really their specialty, so I cannot complain too much. The food is a little pricey, but the quality speaks for itself.

What a nightmare of a sandwich place. At 11:37AM, I placed a pickup order using their app. It told me my order would be ready at 11:50AM. I showed up at 11:55, and the old man behind the counter said it will be 15 minutes. I proceeded to watch him and a lady scramble around for 20 minutes and somehow not make a single sandwich. My order was finally ready at 12:23pm, more than 40 minutes after Sí placed it. As I left the restaurant, I witnessed the old man get into an argument with an upset customer whose order was incorrect. He started yelling at the customer to “get out of his store”.

I’ve never left a review before regarding a service that I watched another customer receive, but I feel an absolute need to do this. While I was waiting on my order, I saw a lady come in because her order was incorrect. The second that she walked in the door an employee named Tom yelled out to her something about her order not being right before she even got a chance to speak. The lady was super polite, and from what I heard Tom saying apparently the same thing it happened last week. He accused the lady I’m not ordering it correctly but after looking at her receipt, it turns out he did make the order wrong. He told another employee just to put some lettuce and onion on the sub that she had drove back to the store with. Politely again, the lady said that she would prefer a new sub, because she had already taken it home and then back to the store so it was cold. Tom then slings her whole box over into a trashcan and yells at another employee to make her a fresh sub. I can’t remember the whole conversation but I did over hear Tom telling her that she’s not God and never come back to the store. I can’t for the life of me figure out what this lady did wrong other than eating here two weeks in a row and being polite. It wasn’t until she asked what his name was in to speak to a manager that is complete attitude changed, but only briefly. When she asked for her receipt back, Tom accused all the other employees in the store of losing the receipt until he realized that it was in the trash where he slung her incorrect sub. Never in my life have I heard someone spoken to so poorly when they were doing nothing but requesting the food they ordered to begin with and even being polite about it after they had gotten an incorrect order two weeks in a row. I really hope this lady takes the time out of her day to file a complaint or leave a review like I am. I completely understand that most employers are struggling to find help, but I cannot understand how someone like this is allowed to work here.

I haven’t been to Firehouse, I could not believe the sandwich first off I had tomatoes that were cut at each end which should have been disposed of instead of put on my sandwich then I got meat that was so thin and shaved it fell apart all over the place. I was so disappointed will not be back again the 10 bucks I paid for that sandwich wasn’t worth two

I understand that it’s difficult to hire and keep employees but… the person that waited on me was unkempt, his greasy hair was hanging down covering his face. I ordered a regular sized pastrami with only swiss cheese, mayo and deli mustard. When I looked at what was in my sandwich there was no mustard. I opened the sandwich and showed the kid. He said that he had put mustard in the sandwich (what, I took it out?) and refused to give me any. Also, there was more mayo than pastrami. Meaning there was very little meat on a $10 sandwich. It was as if they made the Steamer sandwich, left the beef off and put less pastrami than would have gone on the two meat Steamer. I had heard good things about the pastrami Firehouse serves (remember I’m in Asheville, not Brooklyn) but this experience didn’t give me a positive impression. I would have done just as well at Subway, and I hate Subway. This is the last time I eat at a Firehouse Sub and as an Uber driver I will be steering riders away from them.
