Made in a pet’nat style, the wine is spontaneously fermented and carbonation occurs naturally in bottle. It bursts with notes of pink grapefruit, underripe strawberries, cherries, and wild rose, and the finish will surprise you with a big hit of minerality and a lingering Hubba Bubba dust. It’s always golden hour with this Pink Gold sour.

Lunaria, Ramoro Pet Nat, Abruzzo, Italy ’21
This winery is cool for so many reasons. 1. They employ 600 local farmers and contract out their grapes. an incredible opportunity for local farmers who might not grow enough grapes to be profitable, allowing them the opportunity to make money 2. All those farmers are incentive to practice biodynamics. Giving those farmers the resources to farm biodynamically is great for the environment! 3. The bottling is done by disabled people in the villages, allowing them the opportunity at employment. Hell yes to all three of these things! Win win win. And the wine is amazing! This wine is full of strawberry and pear with feminine bubbles and a bright crisp nature

Another beautiful wine from Anna Espelt! Refreshing and easy to drink with a touch of spice.

Fedellos Do Couto, Conasbrancas, White Blend, Spain ’18
For a while now the question, “Conas brancas?” or what to do about the whites, has been kicked around at Fedellos do Couto. With this white wine we think they’ve figured it out and so does Wine Spectator, “The palate is terribly balanced, with pungent flavors and integrated acidity, effervescent and sharp, with a salty finish. The effect of the skins is quite subtle, and there’s no visible color or tannin. Perhaps it has been polished by the time in oak. It has good depth and is quite complete.”
$36.00

This Riesling is bright, with refreshing acidity and a very slight touch of residual sugar, making it a well-balanced and incredibly drinkable riesling from the talented Florian Fauth. Hints of petrol on the nose lead to a mouthwatering palate full of orchard fruits and stony minerality—what’s not to love? The elegant curves of the “Feinherb” label suggest the supreme finesse of a Riesling with just a bit of residual sugar.

Cacique Maravilla, Pipeño País Vino Tinto, Spain ’21
Pipeno is an endearing term for a local, unpretentious ‘peasant’ wine, typically made from Pais, an obscure, under-appreciated, forgotten grape of vague Spanish descent. It’s light-bodied, fresh and funky with bright red berry flavors, crisp acidity and lower in tannin with flinty, earthy notes. Not bad for a liter of ‘swill’! Super light red that almost drinks like a crunchier Gamay. Manuel Moraga, the winemaker, bottles this Pais just before fermentation is finished which gives the wine a slight fizz, the definition of the style of Pipeno.

I’ve never gravitated towards Primitivo. I find it to be a bit too much of a bully. But this Primitivo showcases just what the grape can do when it’s treated right. If you haven’t heard of the Regent grape, you aren’t behind the times. This grape was just created in 1967, so it’s still getting its sea legs. Division, Gamay Noir “Lutte”, Willamette Valley, Oregon ’21
Crunchy red fruit – oh yes – just the way we love Gamay. We adore Gamay for its uniquely brooding character. Jean Baptiste Sénat, ‘La Nine’ Minervois, Languedoc-Rousillon, France ’19
Younger winemaker husband + wife team established their domaine in 1996 in the foothills of Montagne Noir in Minervois, a region in the Languedoc region (in Southwest France) that’s dominated by red wine production. Organic + biodynamic (a rarity in this region). A blend of 60% Carignane, 20% Grenache, 10% Cinsault + 10% Syrah from 15 hectares of avg 50yo vines. Hand harvested, whole cluster fermentation in stainless steel + aged 10m in oak. Spicy, full bodied. Cassis, plum pit, frankincense, clove + mineral backbone, stout tannins.

Eric Texier St. Julien-En-St. Alban Rouge, Syrah, Rhône, FR ’19
This Syrah is organically farmed and harvested by hand. This wine is expressive of the much warmer, sunnier microclimate and granite-rich St. Julien terroir: whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts in open concrete tanks with no sulfur and a 6-8-day maceration; no extraction techniques (only a submerged cap for gentle infusion of color and flavor); aging in concrete tanks on the fine lees for 18-24 months with no racking; bottling is without fining or filtration and with only a minute dose of sulfur.
Spicy and meaty, with aromas of berries, underbrush and dark flowers, and notes of blackberries and black pepper on the palate
$36.00
Domaine De Courbissac, Les Traverses, Minervois, France ’19
A blend of roughly equal parts of Grenache, Syrah & Mourvedre. This red blend tastes like Cru Beaujolais crossed with spicy Cotes du Rhone! A delicious and hearty wine with notes of cherry and chocolate.
$27.00
Bertrand Stehelin- Gigondas ’20
Bertrand Stehelin – Gigondas (Rouge) 2020 is an incredibly bold and complex full bodied red (70% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre). On the palate: rich blackberries, black pepper, baking spices, tobacco and a delicate smoky finish. We love this wine’s complexity!

I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to try Staplehouse. It’s been high on my list of places I’ve wanted to try in Atlanta for awhile. It did not disappoint! It is very deserving of all its accolades.

Wow. This place is truly incredible. Seasonal menu, we had the cucumbers, pea salad, and sweet corn pizza. Can’t fathom why anyone would rate the food here at anything less than 5 stars. It is super high-end casual.

Staplehouse has undergone a change in concept since the pandemic, with diners now waiting for a table instead of making a reservation for months in advance. The dining experience is mostly outdoor and laid back, with smaller selections on the menu. However, the food is absolutely amazing, with fresh ingredients and dishes that are well-prepared and full of flavor. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food comes out quickly, making for a great overall dining experience. If you’re looking for a casual and memorable meal that showcases local and seasonal ingredients, Staplehouse is definitely worth a visit.

The grinder is probably the best sandwich ever eaten next to Salumi in Seattle. I can’t imagine things turned out exactly the way, the head chef envisioned for this place but it’s incredible how he was able to adapt after the pandemic and keep it going. Staple house is made of stone as far as I’m concerned.

I can’t believe it took me so long to try this iconic Atlanta restaurant. The short rib sandwich was to die for, and the Caesar salad was amazing. Loved the steak empanada and the potato dish as well. I already can’t wait to come back!

Okay….. my sandwich was PRICEY, but it was DAMN good. I consider myself a sandwich connoisseur and my friends know it takes a lot to impress me. I got the Italian grinder and the quality of the ingredients was clearly evident. The bread topped with sesame seeds- delicious, the meats, giardiniera, olive tapenade, & cheese sauce… perfectly executed. I can’t wait to go back and try all the others!!! The patio was also great on a sunny day 🙂

Best meal we’ve had. Ever. Delicious, playful, creative. Service was excellent. Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Incredible experience and supports a wonderful cause (The Giving Kitchen). Many thanks to Allison and the rest of the Staplehouse staff for a beautiful (and extremely memorable) anniversary dinner.

We have come here for 3 of 4 seasons (will hit fall next year). Always delicious, delightful, and so much fun. Love this type of adventurous tasting menu of 10 courses plus bonus artistic candies at the end. Cocktails and service are great. This is THE place to come for a celebration. Make sure you check their website and make a reservation in advance.

BLOWN AWAY! This place has been so hyped that I couldn’t imagine it meeting my expectations. It didn’t just meet my expectations; it exceeded them by a million. There was not a single dish here that was just “ok.” Every dish ranged from great to oh-my-God-this-is-magical. My husband and I came here with friends and were seated in the spot facing the kitchen. We got to watch Chef Ryan and his crew meticulously plating every dish using tweezers. It was quite amazing to watch. They put so much care and time into making sure each dish looked as good as it tasted. The highlight for me was the carrot dish. Carrots!! I know, right? I would never have ordered the dish had our table opted to
