Go there! Incredible service. Staff welcomed us, they go out of their way to attend to you and made sure the experience/meal wasn’t lacking. The atmosphere is peaceful, sitting just off the bay. Can’t go wrong with your drink selection or meal options. We’ve been a few times now with kids and without and can’t be happier.

Great place for brunch or dinner with a platitude of drinks specials during happy hour. Servers are very knowledgeable and the bartender are skilled and easy on the eyes. Owner is hands on and so friendly, this Gem of a place sitting right on the major road into Webster is one of my new FAV places to drink/eat and I look fwd to returning here again asap

First time here. Food was excellent. Had appetizers: shrimp bang bang and mozzarella sticks. Then had South Bay Sauteed Chicken dish that had artichokes.

We went for the prime rib, it was absolutely delicious! We also had a side salad to start and it could’ve fed the two of us.Our server Donald was very attentive and friendly. This was our first visit and will definitely be back!

Recommended by a few friends. Arrived 4:45 on a Thursday to a sequence out of a Woody Allen movie. 2 rough looking old dudes blocking the door stepped aside politely. Enter the noisy bar area, sign pointing to dining room left. Patio on right was 40% occupied but looked like shade was all taken. No host(ess) to be seen- walked into dining room for quiet and cool. One table occupied. Back at bar, server said host will be in shortly. Host arrived in dining room. We asked could we sit at this table. This youngster stated the servers don’t like to serve in this area (THE DINING ROOM) “They prefer the patio”. He escorts to the patio and announces there is no shade left but we can sit in the covered area near the (noisy) bar. Dining room then – again “The servers don’t like the dining room in nice weather”.

We enjoyed ourselves. I’d say the drinks were poured kinda light (at the outdoor bar). Server was great, food was great, even the strangers were great. My ONLY criticism is that when you have a full bar at 10pm, calling LAST CALL is a HORRIBLE business decision! Like I don’t know what covid did to our restaurants/bar industry but damn. We’re barely home from work by 8pm so to shut us down at 10 is kinda rough. I miss the pre-covid days when people wanted to make money.

Southbay is my husband and my favorite restaurant! We don’t go out very often anymore but when we do, we love to go there. I even got many of my friends and their husbands going there now and they love it too! Not only do we go because the food is awesome but, We love Donna, Robin and Donald too! They’re the best!!

Last night, Friday 4/21. Staff displayed poor attitude, very rude. waitress and Host. After a brief rain, many customers went inside the restaurant. We had been inside and asked if it was OK if we went to sit outside since the rain stopped. Our waiter said OK. Then it started to rain again and we asked a nearby waitress if we could move under a table with an umbrella. There were many open tables but she rudely answered back “no”! In addition, there was no waiting line for a table. She mumbled something like “you’re not allowed to…”! OK, we then deceided to leave. As we were leaving I passed near her and the “Host”(a big man) she appeared to be telling him about the situation. He did not appear at all concerned and didn’t make any attempt to approach me or offer an explanation. I we frequent South Bay several times over the Summer with friends and have had many positive experiences before. Our bills usually run over $200+ each time. I’m sure there are many other restaurants that would appreciate customers who spend that kind of money several times over the Summer. However, it will be some time before we return…Richard

This place has changed owners a few times but latest restaurant is great. They must have hired an excellent chef and cooking staff. Every dish was great. The prices are reasonable too. The outdoor seating is nice. The wait time for a table can be long, but otherwise I couldn’t find a reason to take away any stars. It deserves 5 stars for a Webster NY restaurant. Update 2022. Staff shortages at this place are a major problem. They probably need a better general manager that can handle hiring and employee satisfaction. Removing 1 star.
