Been to a lot of BBQ places around the country. This place hits the mark for atmosphere and service is good enough. The food? It’s ok bbq and sides. The Portland area isn’t a super heavy bbq mecca, and this is one of the better in the area.

I would love to provide a review of the BBQ here, but I can’t ever seem to actually be here when they’re open. I’ve tried to bringing family and clients here no less than 4 times in the last 6 months, and every single time they’ve been closed during their business hours. I understand the limitations on selling BBQ and the ease of running out, but my most recent trip was ~90 minutes after they had opened for the evening, and I find it really hard to believe they were already sold out for the day.

The service was excellent and if all I had eaten was brisket they would probably get 4 stars. But they lost a star for the other items. Cornbread was pretty dry. Ribs were mediocre. Mac and cheese had good flavor but it’s penne, not macaroni, which is fine, but it changes the noodles to sauce ratio and I prefer the smaller macaroni noodles to penne, and the bacon on top was way too thick and had no flavor. Some of this was my preference, and I lived in Texas so bbq is sacred and maybe I was just a little underwhelmed but it just wasn’t up to par for me. I’m sad they were out of the tri tip, I would have liked to try that too, if it’s as good as the brisket it might be worth it.

Nice and cozy place I came for the beef ribs, but I stayed for the pork ribs! Man this place was quite a delight. Corn bread was great, service was so friendly and great beers on tap. If you are in the area and have the time it would be a good idea to stop by for a pint and smoked meats!

VOTED BEST BBQ – Pine Shed is consistently perfect. I’ve never had a bad meal there. The owner is an outstanding guy and when they aren’t too busy, he’s great to converse with. Their outside fire pit areas are perfect for evening beers and the new pellet patio heaters will knock the bite off a cold night.

Good BBQ with friendly service. Had the Wednesday special of beef ribs – not as meaty as I would have liked but they tasty. Potato salad was excellent as was their pickled onions. Wish they had a hot BBQ sauce option. .

This place is a gem! Great food and nice atmosphere. All the meats were cooked just perfectly, sides were good-the bacon Mac and cheese was great which had chunks of bacon. They had outdoor seating which had some trees and pergolas to add ambience along with music. They serve the meats until they run out-typical for BBQ places, they were already out of tri tip so we had the special- pastrami…yum!

Went to have some bbq inside the restaurant. Bartender (old man) wasn’t friendly or helpful just irritated that I didn’t know that it was offered only Saturday. Ordered the tri tip was tough and the potato salad was dry. Bad service and food wasn’t good. Went to Famous Dave’s great food and service.

The first thing you notice about the Pine Shed is the delightful smell wafting your way as you get out of your car. Their shredded pork sandwich was brilliant, and the mac ‘n’ cheese sides were rich and creamy. The staff were cheerful and courteous. If you love barbeque you can’t miss this.
