This place is not what it used to be. Prior to the new chef, it was an excellent French Bistro that my girlfriend and I would visit multiple times per summer (for the past 3 years). We would recommend this restaurant to everyone, now we recommend not attending. Our most recent visit was terrible. The chicken liver had an un-edible layer of fat on the top. The escargot came with only 3 snails, encapsulated in massive fried balls. That’s about as far as we made it. We cashed out and went to a different restaurant. Attached is the food from the old restaurant. It was top notch and truly French. Hopefully this place gets their act together and reverts to the old menus. The spring and summer 2023 menus are laughable in comparison.

Very difficult to find these authentic French bistros serving traditional French entrees’. Not all of us want a bistro with an “interesting twist” but prefer the real deal. We were there in the afternoon and unfortunately had other commitments for dinner. But the items we had were amazing as was the wine. Very few places serve decent wines by the glass but this place nailed it. Bummer they were out of onion soup, seems like that should be a bedrock item. Dining here will be at the top of our list when we return to Portland ME.

Went here for a bachlorette dinner. Absolute amazing spot. Espresso martinis were on point. I’d opt not to get the lobster roll from here as the other food really stood out more.

Better restaurants out there. For the cost, there’s an expectation that wasn’t met. The wine is good, but everything else is not. The ratatouille came out cold, and when it did, it wasn’t good. Just $27 mid-level vegetables with nothing on it. The lobster roll was mostly shrimp. Drinks ordered were left at the bar for 15- 25 minutes. The wine selection is great. Our server forgot our appetizers, but was kind about it. I don’t think it’s all his fault. I think he was doing the best he could. But this restaurant left A LOT to leave desired, and the only reason I didn’t consult the manager was because it was a bachelorette, and didn’t want to cause a scene. It would be fine if the cost was lower, but cost and luxury warrant food and service to match. This simply did not.

Went here for the Valentine’s prix fixe menu and was really impressed. From start to finish each dish was absolutely perfect and delicious. Staff were attentive and kind and the atmosphere comfortable. I’ll post a photo of the entire set menu, but what I chose was the mushroom starter, scallop main and cheesecake for dessert. We also got bread to mop up our plates in between courses which was also really good baguette. Highly recommended it and I know I’ll be back again.

The service was good and the drinks were great! Friendly staff and comfortable, yet upscale atmosphere. The food was somewhat wrong…. The French onion soup was made incorrectly and was as thick as gravy. Not to mention a large layer of fat sitting on top that was not from the cheese. We then waited for over an hour for one hanger steak (cooked well, but the steak knives were really dull and the kids couldn’t cut the meat). The fries were excellent. The sides were all excellent too! Maybe a little heavy on the butter, but hey- everyone loves butter. The trout was great! But portion was very small. Probably could have double the size for the price we were paying.

My girlfriend and I decided to have dinner here Saturday night. Since she grew up in Paris I was expecting some criticism from her but it was just the opposite. Not only did she find the food to be completely authentic and well prepared, she said it reminded her of her childhood back in France. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the location was just walking distance from our hotel.

Nice small cozy place. Service was very good also. Had the sea bass and it was very tender but a bit bland. Overall it was a nice place with a good selection of cocktails too. Small menu which I always enjoy seeing.

This is a restaurant in name only. One can smell the lack of management and professionalism in every corner. A limited menu produced by a overly slow kitchen and presented by the most annoying person imaginable. The vichyssoise was some kind of [not even close to chilled] colorful fusion known only to a cook from some far off place, certainly not France. Even at half the posted prices, it would be unconscionable to give this place even a one star rate.
