We think our flan is the best we have ever tasted. One taste and we think you will agree. The recipe dates to 1935 when the Columbia opened Tampa’s first “Conditioned Air” dining room, the Don Quixote. Spanish caramel egg custard, prepared the old-fashioned way, using only the best natural ingredients.

The original Key lime pie recipe was thought to have been created in Key West, the birthplace of our grandmother and great-grandmother, Carmen Piloto Hernandez in the late 19th century. When the family moved to Ybor City, they brought a prized Key lime tree to plant at their home, beginning a tradition of enjoying fresh Key lime pie at family gatherings. Today our pies start with a graham cracker crust, and our filling is made from pasteurized egg yolks, condensed milk and “Nellie & Joe’s” Key lime juice. That’s it! Key lime pie is the “Official Pie of the State of Florida.”

Phenomenal. No other words for Columbia Restaurant. I would definitely recommend booking a reservation ahead of time especially if you are planning on going during peak hours and during the weekend, because it was very crowded and there was a solid line of people without reservations waiting to be seated. We came for my father’s birthday, and all of us LOVED the food. So savory and authentic. I will definitely be coming back here to try out more dishes.

What a great restaurant! Gorgeous inside and out no matter where you sit. Food was absolutely phenomenal. We had one of the crab croquettes which were soooo yummy. We also got the brioche and the stuffed salmon. The stuffed salmon was our favorite. Service was wonderful and we had such a wonderful time taking in the beautiful venue. Thanks to Jason, our waiter, for all the great suggestions and service!

Glad we happened upon this today. Some of the best paella I’ve had in very long time (almost as good as my Spanish host mom’s). It was great to see them make our sangria at the table (and others salads and such).

Great for the dining experience, our server was super friendly and the ambiance of this setting was as historic, charming and fancy as expected. Food wise, everything was ok, wasn’t too crazy about the flavours, but I haven’t really had too much Spanish food to compare to! The best dish was probably the steak, but it WAS great that everything wasn’t over seasoned/ greasy. I must add, the complimentary bread and butter were amazing.

Wow… The atmosphere, the servers, and the food were all absolutely wonderful. They have a ton of selections on their menu so finding something that you will like should be no problem. The only issue (which isn’t their fault) is finding parking in the general vicinity.

We made reservations and recommend doing so, as if not the wait time would be rather long. We had to wait a little bit , but wasn’t too bad. We order our drinks and soup. the drinks were good, and the soup could of been a little better, our waiter was ok, but was very busy . Our meals were good, my Mahi was a little small but was tasty. Wifes dinner was mostly rice , not too much meat or seafood in the paella. The salad we had was excellent, the dessert was flan and it was average but tasty. There are other Columba House locations that are above this location. If you have never had Columbia hose it is worth the experience.

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant full of History as well as excellent meals and spectacular service. We enjoyed our visit yesterday and our waiter Pearce, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about what I could eat being that I am gluten free. Always made sure that we had plenty to drink and that my guests were happy. The gift shop has beautiful items for sale. The building itself is exquisitely decorated. It’s just a whole vibe. Can’t wait to come back!
