my fav restaurant in ithaca! good to see that they are changing up the menu to provide breakfast (although it’s just cold brew coffee and tea). very cute environment and good food (no dish will disappoint but do try the fries).

Good unique food around Ithaca!! I love their Za’atar Chicken Malawach but my first love will always be their Truffle Mushroom Malawach because they really put the truffle inside so I could eternally taste and sense it during my meal. Friendly staff and cute interior, they’re such a gem !!

Their sandwiches are great. Very flavorful. The food is fresh. The menu might not have many options but they have options for both vegetarians and non vegetarians.

Came here mostly to rave about the beet salad which was perfection — perfectly composed, not over dressed, great balanced flavors and plenty big enough for two people to share! We also had the zaatar chicken malawach. Everything inside the bread was super flavorful. I personally found the malawach bread to be a little greasy — it was like a thicker paratha? Staff was lovely.

If you’ve not had malawach before, I’d give it a try. We chose this place because it purchases some of the mushrooms from a local mushroom farm we’d just toured. So we had to get the schnitzeled oyster mushrooms ($9.75) and the Truffled Mushroom Malawach ($10.50). Also got the Za’atar chicken malawach ($14) because we’d never had za’atar spicing before. All were delicious. The Malawach pastry bread was tasty if you like the flavor of grilled bread. Served the role of the wrap. The flavor of the truffled mushrooms was very mild, so most of what I picked up in that one was the malawach. But in the za’atar chicken, the spicing was excellent. And definitely enjoyed the giant oyster mushrooms, especially since we had just seen some growing in person a couple of hours prior. The restaurant is very informal, so decor was not their emphasis. We ate at one of their sidewalk tables.

Quick and kind service, but even better than that was the absolute heavenly deliciousness of the food. Get the falafel. I haven’t had one this good since I was in the Middle East. So. Delicious.

My family eats out very rarely to save money, and I’m a decent cook, so when we do buy restaurant food, it’s gotta be something special. Although I love Ithaca to pieces, there aren’t many places in town that really wow me… but Lev Kitchen does. It’s seriously well-made, delicious, surprising food. Every meal has been so enjoyable and I have never once thought to myself “I could have made this myself”. It’s where I’ve gone for 3 of my last 4 meals out and probably the next one too. Oh, and the fries are to die for.

I ate here last weekend with my partner. Lev wasn’t there (believe me, I asked!) but whoever was manning the grill was doing a splendid job. I really liked the spices and would have liked if they also left some extra spices in a side jar for me to eat. They were so good. But Lev wasn’t there so I can’t really hold it against him – I’m sure he would have understood. This food fueled me for a big hike along Buttermilk Falls. Maybe that’s where Lev was? Thanks everybody. Keep me updated on Lev.
