Great warm ambiance, good food and wonderful wait staff. The microbrewery offers $4 house-made drafts during their happy hour.

Came to Topeka for my wife’s surgery, stayed for the brisket Mac and Chee with brisket and an old fashioned. The drink was a bit too sweet but still made well enough. Food was also very good and the brisket smoke flavor was on par. It was well smoked and good meat. They offer a gluten free menu but my wife got the pork sammy without the bun. The pork was done really well too. Pickles might have been homemade, kinda gave me that vibe. Their BBQ sauce compliments well. Sweet but not thick, perfect for savory meat. If I lived closer I’d go more often, server was excellent. 5 stars because it was what I was hoping, price point and relaxed atmosphere.

I think they found a way to actually suck flavor from food. I paid $14 for a mushed up meat like substance on a plain white bun with two pieces of pickle on the side and a scoop of dried out mashed potatoes with no butter or gravy or anything. There was barbecue sauce for the sandwich on the table but it tasted like watered down runny ketchup with a single fleck of black pepper for spiciness. The single thing that had flavor between the two of us was the tartar sauce with my partners fish. Even the balsamic vinegar reduction on the fried green tomatoes didn’t even taste strong. If you can make balsamic vinegar taste weak you should be congratulated. The meat on my brisket sandwich was mangled beyond recognition and had no taste of even smoke or salt or anything. The whole thing tastes like, ” I have given up on life”. The same attitude was displayed by our waitress. The beer was decent though. I understand standards are low in Topeka and it’s apparent in this offering. You’re much better off with one of the small Mexican joints or one of the Thai places or one of the Indian places than this. Even a high school lunch lady would be ashamed of this food. I don’t know how many metaphors I can use for bland, and unenthusiastic. But that’s basically it not a good value at all, and not good enough to be a special treat.

I’m hesitant to recommend. The drinks were good. The coleslaw was good. My fish wasn’t seasoned at all. The fries were floppy and soft. It wasn’t terrible. A little more attention to detail and it would be worth the money. A couple of people in my group had biscuits and gravy. They said it was good, but there wasn’t enough gravy. Once again, attention to detail. You can do much better for your money.

We had Iron Rail Catering provide street tacos and brisket sandwiches for our wedding reception. Andy was great to work with and extremely communicative. Even getting the “elite” tier of service, the price was still less than the quotes we received from other caterers. All of our attendees raved about the Mac & Cheese! The servers did a great job with meal prep and cleanup. Couldn’t be happier to recommend Iron Rail catering!

Love the decor here. We were there just after the lunch crowd. I ordered the brisket street tacos with house fries. They were delicious! A generous serving of brisket in each. My only point of issue might be a little too much slaw topping on them. The slaw is delicious but I wanted to taste more of the yummy brisket. The fries are delicious. My watermelon margarita was very refreshing.

I didn’t see anything but bar stools. May not be the best spot for elderly members with regard to comfortable seating. It was a good atmosphere. It wasn’t cluttered with lots of things (tvs, banners, etc). The service was quick and attentive. I forgot I was in a brewery and almost ordered a pineapple cider but the waiter was attentive to our conversation and brought me a taste instead of a full glass. I had the cheesesteak sandwich and again, forgot it was a BBQ/Smokehouse. It was a good combo of meat, cheese and veggies but quickly became a hard swallow. Much better reheated!!
