What a wonderful Italian experience. I loved the relaxed ambiance and decor. We had the pleasure of meeting Emma-she is a sweetheart. Her children, Luigi and Barbara were lovely. Barbara took the time to answer all of our questions about the menu. Emma’s cooking was absolutely delicious. The veal meatballs and the swordfish were outstanding. The eggplant parmigiana was the best I’ve ever had. Definitely a must try restaurant when in North Miami.

Honestly 10/10!!! So delicious!!! one of the best experiences. The only authentic Italian kitchen in all of Miami. You can taste the fresh ingredients and every dime is worth the price of these meals. Not even that expensive for the type of meal served. The portions are great, it’s like the perfect amount and more. Apart from the delicious cooking, the atmosphere is beyond beautiful. I feel like I’m in a trattoria in Rome! So beautiful. Everything is remodeled and brand new. You can really tell the love the owners put in the meals and just the entire restaurant together!

Having eaten at their last restaurant in Montreal many times, I must say I was saddened with the fact that Emma and Luigi would no longer be making the meatballs I have come to crave so desperately. But when I got news that they had re-opened in Miami!!! This was my opportunity for an immediate road trip! Although we definitely had to reserve in advance it was totally worth it. The food is always so deliciously fresh, the meatballs are so savoury and melt in your mouth, the prosciutto and burrata are completely balanced in their creamy/salty combo. It was just like the old days. The prices are actually surprisingly low in this economy and The service is always 5 star and if I could add a 6th one I would. Luigi is so charismatic and friendly, his sister Barbara is lovely and amazing and Mamma/Nonna in the kitchen still pumping out fresh gnocchis after all these years!?!?!? I’m completely bewildered with their passion for cooking.

When I heard the news that legendary Montreal, Emma, moved to Florida to open a new restaurant; I grabbed my Crocs and future-ex wife, Esmeralda, for a trip down to M-I-A-M-I! This place is like walking into a cozy time machine and being teleported straight to your own Italian grandmother’s kitchen. The Sunshine State has rejuvenated Emma, with a tan that could rival the likes of David Hasselhoff and Jennifer Lopez… combined!

Emma & Lorenzo Trattoria is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in South Florida. It’s only a matter of time that this new restaurant becomes a place hard to get a reservation. Emma, owned a very successful restaurant in Rome. She then moved to Montreal where Da Emma’s was ranked the best Italian restaurant in Montreal where you would see movie stars, politicians and other celebrities. She has now moved to Florida and opened this restaurant with her son Luigi and daughter Barbra. It is truly a family run restaurant that is exactly like eating in Italy. Emma even has some family she’s brought directly from Italy to help out. My Primi was Spaghetti alle vongole and my secondi was swordfish done in a sugo with olive and fresh arugula. This was my first time here but I will be a regular several times a week.

So happy we randomly stopped and tried this restaurant out on a whim. It’s a small cozy restaurant with pleasant, warm lighting. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. The owners Italian mother is in the kitchen cooking and you can feel the love she puts into the food. Their pasta is not made in house, but purchased fresh from a local pasta maker. Barbara, one of the owners came over to chat and get to know us and we love that extra attention from restaurant staff. She’s lovely. It shows the passion they have for the food.

We live right across this restaurant and we always wanted to come (me and my boyfriend) since they opened, but never got to, since now , when we stopped by for a glass of Prosecco, but ended up ordering meal as well. The restaurant looks amazing, the music, atmosphere, everything was better then we expected. We ended up ordering the Picatta Limone that we shared and it was delicious. This restaurant is a hidden gem in North Miami. I’m not usually a reviewer person, but I felt that this place really deserved it! Definitely gonna come back!
