Ah, the Union River Lobster Pot! Where dining dreams come true and time flies by – or maybe it’s the other way around? We arrived promptly at 7:10pm, ready to dive into some succulent seafood, and were greeted with the promise of a 20-25 minute wait. Little did we know, we were actually booking tickets to a 58-minute mosquito-buffet show outside!

Okay I haven’t had a whole lobster in several years so finally got one today when I was up in Maine. I’ll have to say I trusted the other Google reviews and they didn’t disappoint. This place is excellent and has plenty of indoor seating but would recommend sitting outside or at least on the patio to where you can see the Little River behind the restaurant. Also the night I visited they had a tiki bar out there as well as some live music. After eating an excellent lobster and seafood dinner the peaceful evening by the water was a nice encore to it!

We arrived when they opened. It was a rainy day, so we ate indoors. We like to eat early because (in many restaurants) we find it easier to have a conversation before the establishment is full. In this case, dining room was spacious, with high ceilings and plenty of seating. By the time we left, all of the tables were taken. Still, we didn’t find it too noisy.

I sat inside. There was a 30+minute wait for window or deck seating. I ordered the Dirty Martini and it was average. They maybe could use a better olive. I had the Lobster Poutine as a meal. I was a bit disappointed in this dish. The fries had no seasoning. There was plenty of lobster but it just didn’t blend well with the dish. The fries ended up soggy and sat heavy in my stomach. I am willing to give this place another try with a different order.

We had so much fun at this restaurant. Even with the wait time, we enjoyed walking by the river, the live music and drinks on the lawn. The food was amazing and our waitress, Stacey, was so kind…even helping show this novice how to eat a lobster the proper way. So, so good in every way!!

My GF and I were visiting Acadia and came here for dinner on our first night, absolutely amazing service. We came in right before close and they didn’t rush us or anything! The chef even came out to talk to us during the meal and he was so nice and friendly. I got the Lobster Mac and Cheese and my GF got the Herb Crusted Salmon both were great tasting and incredibly filling. We took a slice of blueberry pie back to our hotel and it was amazing even after the drive! You must come here if you’re in the area!

Got the 2 1/4 lb lobster with the $12 add on for the clam chowder and clams/mussels. We also got the baked stuffed haddock with the mashed potatoes and rice pilaf. My favorite was the baked stuffed haddock. The sauce that they cover the dish compliments everything on the plate perfectly, and there was enough food to feed 3ish people. The total came out to ~$125 with tip and tax.

We travel to Bar Harbor several times a year from Florida. We “always” stop and have a wonderful meal at Union River Lobster Pot. Yes. We order lobster calculating what size lobster we want as we admire the huge tanks with lobster displayed out front. We went on a Friday night at 7PM and there was no wait. We were seated promptly on the porch overlooking the river with a great breeze. Union River Lobster pot never disappoints. Our waitress was wonderful and the meal was absolutely delicious. We even sampled four different desserts. Just wonderful!!!

The lobster was good, but everything they did with it was bad. The sauces were bad. The butter sauce in the Lazy Lobster was terrible. We had to remove the lobster pieces from the sauce and dry them off to eat it. The green beans, supposedly cooked in butter, were inedible. I took a picture at the end of the meal because of all of the plates of green beans left over. The clam chowder was thin and bland. All of this after an hour and a half wait. It came highly recommended and we were sorely disappointed. I would not recommend or ever go back.
