Came here for a date night with my husband. It was our first time here and he made reservations. He claimed he saw on their website that there was somewhat of a dress attire. No problem, we usually dress nicely when we’re out. We took advantage of the valet, which had very nice gentleman who opened the door for me. We get there a little bit before our 7:45 reservation and noticed no one was dressed like I thought. We get to the desk and my husband talks to the woman about our reservation and she tells us there’s a wait. We didn’t wait too long, it was less than 10 minutes. Our waiters name was Brian. He was very nice. We ordered a red and white sangria (which they made from scratch), calamari (really good!) for the appetizer. I ordered the cowboy ribeye, sweet potato casserole (was really good!) and grilled asparagus. My husband ordered the tbone steak, lobster Mac and cheese (not that good). The sides were pretty much sharable sizes, so that’s what we did. Dessert we shared a cheesecake and he had a Ruth’s Coffee from the dessert menu. Overall it was a nice night for the both us.

Wow. We go to Ruth Chris often and the past few times we went to the other location at mall and weren’t happy. Tonight was different so glad we decided to try the Melville location. It reminded us why we love Ruth Chris . The steak was on point. Our waiter was the best. Celvin not only went above and beyond but he had them make a drink for my wife that they didn’t have. Best customer experience. We definitely going back. Thanks Celvin

My wife and I went here to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and we were not disappointed. From the moment we checked in to the moment we left, everything was 5 star service.

Much preferred this location in Melville. Server Faith was great and food also. Order your entrée immediately, as you’ll have a long wait if you dont. Seabass seemed a bit rushed compared to the one I had in Garden City is my only complaint. Oh and it’s freezing in there!

Let me start by saying Cassie our server was fantastic, beginning to end she was stellar, warm, personable and did her best to remedy our issues. The rating has nothing to do with Cassie and is instead related to other aspect of the service itself. We arrived in time but it took about 20 minutes to be seated, however it was a Saturday night so perhaps that’s why. Bread took some time to get to us, the people next to us were seated after us and had their second helping of bread 2 minutes after our first came one arrived. I ordered the bisque and calamari as my dinner but it was brought out as an appetizer to when my girlfriends food came out I had already finished my meal. Noticed what was either water strains on the utensils and glass as well. Petit fillet was tender but seemed over charred, grilled asparagus was phenomenal, calamari and bisque were both enjoyable. Will try to visit again at opening hour during the week to see if the service is better with a reduced attendance.

We’ve been to Ruth’s Chris Steak Houses in several states over the years and the Melville restaurant doesn’t compare. JONATHAN was a good waiter and very attentive. However, our rib eye was not cooked to the requested Medium temperature and was gristly with some inedible sections. My petite fillet was over-peppered and thankfully Jonathan filled my water glass frequently. While service and atmosphere are important….we visit Ruth’s Chris for the FOOD

I would rate this 0 stars if I can. I ordered a ribeye medium rare, got a completely cooked steak with a little pink in the center. Showed the waiter and cray part is he argued that this is medium rare. After 5 minutes of an argument what is medium rare (?!?!) he took it back and brought another steak in 2 minutes! COMPETELY COOKED! Clearly not my order. I gave up, see pic below. Crazy for a steak house to not understand this. We were there for 2 and a half hours, mostly waiting for food and our check. At the end the manager said they were not prepared for a father’s day rush. Well then don’t open your doors, and please train your staff how steaks are cooked since it is a steakhouse….very disappointed.

The roast stuffed chicken breast was moist and tasty. The skin was crisp, and the portion was huge. I had to take some home in a doggy bag. I plan to come back soon to order it again.

A bit harsh but I’ve been a loyal patron of Ruth’s Chris for 20+ years. This location is aesthetically pleasing. Service is far inferior to the Garden City location that we typically go to. Apps arrived before drinks, the server was not enthusiastic or engaging in any way. Just boring and transactional. Bussers were not great. Tables around us stayed dirty way longer than appropriate. The restroom had no toilet paper in one of the stalls. The restaurant seemed understaffed and the staff undertrained. Management DID do walk through to just look at things but there was no friendly vibe or interaction…from anyone. The steaks were acceptable and properly cooked. However, lobster meat on the mac and cheese which we usually get looked macerated and water logged. It was so crumbly. One last note is the salad plates shaped like skinny ovals are not conducive to being able to cut a lettuce wedge without getting salad all over the table. The restaurant needs some polish to get it to the caliber that is expected from a Ruth’s Chris establishment.
