Great service here at HomeGrown! The staff is so friendly and the service was great. Food came out quick and it was delicious! I’m a Texas native but I’ll have to say this is some of the best brunch I’ve had! The croissant French toast was so yummy and super fluffy and the homemade pop tarts are to die for! So good and definitely recommend! The prices were reasonable as well. I left with a full belly and a smile. I’ll be back the next time I’m in Des Moines!

This place is a must! Everything was so fresh and delicious! I wish I could have ordered more than I did but that would have been ridiculous. We had the chicken salad, tomato soup and eggs Benedict Florentine style. Margaritas and mimosas. Orange juice for both were fresh squeezed, bread was fresh, English muffins were fresh baked, everything was delicious! They are very busy, so be prepared to wait a bit. However; it is very worth it!!!

The best breakfast in Des Moines. The restaurant is very lively with wonderful service. Had the John Denver w/grits and a side of bacon. The bacon was some of the best bacon I have ever tasted. Definitely try their homemade pop tart as well!!

I am not a breakfast guy but this place sure changed my mind. Locally sourced, their dishes are clearly carefully crafted and put together. We had a variety on our table from the classic omelette to the seasonal cauliflower Buffalo salad. The ingredients are clearly fresh but prices remain very consumer friendly and affordable. Service was great. I do recommend a reservation or good timing, they were very busy, even for lunch.

Great service, wonderful food! The pancakes were absolutely delicious and the seasoning on my side of potatoes was *chef’s kiss* perfect! My friends had omelets and coffee cake and the coffee cake was absolutely HUGE! The ambiance was very comfortable and the table setting was perfect for brunch. I don’t drink coffee but they had coffee service ready on the table. Will return for brunch, but definitely arrive early as it was 8 and already getting busy, so be prepared to wait!

First six visits were amazing. Today visit 7 completely missed the mark. Docking two stars, sloth slow service and cold food. Eggs Benedict was more like deviled eggs .

Love the concept of this whole restaurant and its emphasis on using local, fresh ingredients. My friend recommended the pop tarts which were so amazing and nostalgic. I ordered the honey bee latte and avocado toast. Though I loved the presentation of both these items, I wasn’t blown away by either. Probably not the best move to get avocado on bread at a place with so many other interesting options, so I would pass on this menu item and get one of their lunch sandwiches or their French toast. Coffee wasn’t sweet though honey was one of the main ingredients. It was so cute though, I didn’t mind much. I also ordered their coffee cake to go which I enjoyed at home and it was good. Overall, would love to return and try other things and for sure order the pop tarts again.

Went early on a Sunday morning for breakfast and no wait when we arrived. Ordered coffee cake and pop tart to start – both are good but go coffee cake if you are indecisive. Everyone in the group enjoyed their meals – quick service as well.

Meet Daniel at Bartenders Handshake the other night. Talked about how we were in Des Moines for a couple days. He recommended where he worked for breakfast.
