Considering the advanced fanfare and accolades. Wasn’t that impressed.

It was ok. Overpriced. I’m glad to have tried it and probably won’t be back.

Celebrated a special anniversary at “one of the best restaurants in Encinitas” and honestly it was very disappointing. It took a total of 15 minutes for us to be greeted at our table by who I believe was the manager and then shortly after our waiter found our table talked us through the menu. We started with the seared shrimp and hamachi crudo.

I will start the review by stating this is a really nice place, cool vibe and smells amazing.

Celebrated the end of our soccer season (we didn’t make the playoffs ) with a steak dinner. The Steak was great (as were the potatoes) but honestly the star of the show was the Mahi Mahi ceviche. The sauce, the salted plantain chips…it was perfection.

The presentation was beautiful, as it is at every Chef Malarkey restaurant. The drinks were great – well crafted. The food was okay. I am a huge Chef Malarkey fan and have been to every restaurant of his and I thought that our brunch was just okay. The shrimp and grits had a lot of flavor, but the sausage hash came out cold and didn’t have much flavor to it at all. It was a little disappointing having had fantastic food from Chef Malarkey before.

Lovely place. We enjoy their special menu for Easter and the crab cake Benedict was delicious.

The food was fabulous outstanding flavor and unusual dishes. I had the catch of the day, and my husband had a Bolognese that was very different . What really made our anniversary dinner so special was a French waitress from Brazil. She provided excellent service and made the evening very special for us. The only reason I gave less than a 5 for atmosphere was the music was loud, besides that everything else was superb. I rarely write a review, but I had to acknowledge this waitress who went above and beyond.

Herb & Sea is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in San Diego. The menu is delicious and unique, with plenty of options for all palates. Fresh-caught fish and homestyle pizzas are the flagship menu items.

Visiting from out of town and admittedly had no expectations but hopeful it would be a great meal with clients.
