Fantastic date night! This place is so welcoming and charming. The building has history in Geneva so ask about the building. Spacious seating is my favorite so you feel like it just your table in the room. The staff was so cheerful and polite. The drinks are poured to the very top which I like! Grits are out of this world. Parking was easy on the side of the building. The food was delicious and I highly recommend!

Honestly pretty bummed about my experience. My family decided to take a long morning walk on the river for Mother’s Day today since I work tomorrow, so naturally we were in comfy clothes. We decided to eat at Patten House. We felt we may be underdressed but checked and there is no dress code listed anywhere. We were treated like a nuisance and met with judgment from the second we stepped foot in the door. Additionally, the menu prices were listed as lower than they appeared on the check. When I brought this to their attention, they made us feel like we were the problem and not the fact that they are lying and false advertising. Their food was decent but overall I don’t feel it is worth the cost (especially considering everything actually cost even more than it was listed). They also made no comment to us and just started moving all the tables right around us. We were the only table in that room and we were made extremely uncomfortable and like they were anxiously waiting for us to leave so they could seat guests that look more upscale. Major bummer. My money spends the same whether I am in a pantsuit or leggings and a tee. But I guess they don’t believe you are worth good service and humane treatment unless you look rich.

First time dining at the restaurant. The husband and I enjoyed it. The staff was great. Our waiter Flavio was ” the best”. The brussel sprout appetizer was delicious but just a touch to much on the sweet side. The hubby said the gumbo was flavorful and he really enjoyed the cornbread. I had the blackened Grouper. It was a sweet and savory dish. Never would’ve added avocado to the mashed potatoes but it was delicious. Beignet’s were good too. Overall a good meal. We will come again. Oh yeah, the restaurant is in a old house. I would love to take a tour of it next time.

A restaurant with a good location/ambiance in geneva downtown. The food looked more delicious than it was… and the entrees were seriously overpriced. I paid less for better cuisine at RPM on the river in downtown Chicago. Add plating charges and a tacked on credit card surcharge, I am pretty certain that I will not come back to this joint….for ho-hum grub.

Gorgeous venue with incredible food. We had drinks, the brussel sprouts, shared the grouper entree, and had a lovely peach cobbler dessert. Each item was delightful, with excellent recommendations from or waitress. Perfect level of attention was given. We will absolutely be returning as it made our anniversary very special.

As a frequent flier since Patten House’s opening, I’ve never had a bad experience in the past decade. Always great service and well taken care of no matter the pace of the day, thanks to the staff. Recently my gf and I go here for lunch the past couple years. Their creole wedge and chicken wrap are to die for. I’m a landlubber and my gf enjoys seafood, so this is a nice medium to accommodate all of our tastes. Additionally, someone I would like to highlight is Kevin. You go above and beyond, and aside from bartenders in the past: Wally, Rez and Aaron (kathy as host, Sam, flabio, Kat rn also), you personally take the cake when it comes to a comprehensive service as a barkeep. You know our drink order, you get us excited to be there, you’re intuitive, you know our food order, you know everything it seems and as a patron, it is impressive witnessing how great you are. Your constructive leadership, big heart and hospitable inclusion are rare and I want you to know, Tasha and I talk about your service anywhere we go and 9/10 times they don’t compare. Keep up the great work. You’re frickin awesome. Cheers brother.
