This place is a hidden jem!! All the food was done to perfection! The service was outstanding and the best I’ve ever had, anywhere. Jordan, our server, went above and beyond to accommodate my party. George, the chef, personally made a burger of the month for my guest, who has celiac disease. It was amazing. I could fill an entire page with great things to say about this restaurant. It’s simply the best and I will be back!!

We made reservations for valentine’s day evening. We should of looked online what was on the menu because it had very limited pricey entrees. We wanted the prime rib but was informed they ran out and had to wait a half hour to get some. We were hungry and couldn’t wait. We got the Chesapeake chicken. The crab that topped the chicken was good. We went because I use local flavors app but I didn’t know and it’s not really advertised that they don’t accept it on ” holidays” I don’t really consider valentine’s day as a holiday but whatever. We will only return when they have more on the menu and take the discount.

This was a great old tavern to visit. There is a lot of history here. This place has been running since the mid 1700’s. The food was great, the service was very good and the bartender was very personable and warm. I def recommend coming here to anyone who wants good food and drinks set to a centuries old theme!

A fair meal but I thought it was a little pricey. The online menu also did not match the actual menu on site due to something such as filet mignon not being offered or taco salad. One of the people in our group had their burger very overcooked. The waitress did offer to bring us another one and took the price off our bill. I would love to go to one of the ghost hunting experiences here as they seem to be very popular and intriguing. I liked it almost more as a historical site then I did as a place to dine

Beautiful building and appropriate decor, but the “background” music was a little too loud. Mediocre food and small servings for the price. My pork chop was bone in, not very big and on the dry side, but the cherry sauce on it was delicious. The mashed potatoes were real and very good, the asparagus was a very small portion and tough. My mother’s liver was very over cooked. They were accommodating to special dietary requests, but the portion was so small it didn’t make up for the accommodation. Birthday dinner and my favorite Dogoods is closed on Mondays. I’ll wait till Tuesday next time.
