I am gluten intolerant and have very sensitive digestion. I was thrilled to find this restaurant and enjoy Chinese food for the first time in many years!! It did not disappoint. Staff was knowledgeable and accommodating, the food was fantastic and settled like a home cooked meal. It’s rare I can eat out and not come away feeling bloated or weighed down. I felt great after eating here. Highly recommend!!

Great healthy food options with great taste! Very friendly employees. Gets quite busy at dinner time. Come before 5 pm, or make reservations.

I went to the Golden House restaurant yesterday for the 1st time. When we entered the restaurant I noticed how clean it was. The waitress greeted us as soon as we walked in and sat us down. We were the only customers and it was 330pm. We felt very rushed and didn’t even have time to look over the menu. We told the waitress that this was our 1st time here and we wanted to look over the menu before we order. We ordered for two and she only brought out an order for one. We also ordered an order of fried shrimp and told her to bring it out the same time with our meal so that we can have everything hot at the same time. My wife and I decided to just split the meal because we didn’t want to wait for another meal. The order I got was not the order I asked for. I explained to the waitress exactly what I wanted and she said ok. The meal was not hot. It was warm and I asked the waitress if she could put the order in a microwave to heat it up. The fried shrimp was not crispy and hot. It was warm and soggy. The only thing that was hot was our tea. This is the 1st Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to that served food that wasn’t hot. The shrimp should have been in a fryer longer so it would have been completely cooked. Who ever gave this restaurant a 5-star doesn’t know what a good restaurant is. You might as well say I spent $35.00 for one order of hot tea. We was so disappointed with this restaurant and I hope no one has to go through the experience we went through. We ended up going to another restaurant to get a hot and decent meal.

Originally we decided to go here because it advertised “healthy Chinese food” so we decided to give it a try. The first time we had our daughter with us and the bill was outrageous but there isn’t any itemized bill. That’s unacceptable in my opinion. I want to know what we are being charged for. I inquired about the bill and we got it settled. I didn’t plan on ever going back because I was not impressed. Very small portions and just nothing to tell anyone about. My husband decided tonight that we should give it another try. We love Chinese food. Saying this visit was disappointing is an understatement. I ordered water with lemon to drink (as always, I mostly only drink water) and to eat I ordered the house special of teriyaki chicken which included the egg flour soup, egg roll and white or fried rice. The egg roll is laughable to say the least. Tiny! The portions, also laughable. I wouldn’t be able to serve that with a serious expression and feel good about it. My husband ordered a Pepsi to drink (definitely not Pepsi, possibly RC or perhaps something even cheaper) and to eat he ordered the walnut shrimp which came with white rice. The shrimp was extremely fishy tasting and the rice was super dry. He ate a few pieces and couldn’t stomach another bite. He asked me to give it a try and I figured he was just being picky. Not the case! I had to spit it out into my napkin. It literally gagged me. We love seafood and have it often. Something was definitely wrong. When my husband left his plate untouched after the few bites, he went to pay so we could get out of there and never return. The waitress asked me if something was wrong or did I need a box? I told her the shrimp was very fishy and that we didn’t need a box She did nothing and charged us normal price. Fair enough. That is what we ordered but just bad business. You definitely do not get what you pay for. Service was fast as there was only 3 other people in the place.l and it seems to be clean. However, I do not recommend. Guillians on Broadway is a much better option or even panda express. My husband is sick to his stomach. Hopefully this place puts more pride into the quality of their product.

I’m going with two stars here because the staff was pleasant. I’m here in Tucson for almost two years now from the Big Apple. Now I certainly don’t expect to get two things here that are even close to east coast food. 1. Pizza I’ve learned to live with mediocre pizza, probably Empire is the Ace in Tucson. 2. Chinese Food certainly don’t have high expectations here in Tucson but this place is just not good, my first time ordering from here and the cost was $130 now I have $120 worth of trash. Overloaded with vegetables and ALL dishes were bland and flavorless. I hate to chop up a place like this but this place has 4.5 star reviews on average? Are the people rating this Chinese food Dumpster Diving? Come on man!

We ordered War Wonton Soup and extra spicy Garlic Eggplant for lunch. The soup had a lot of fresh vegetables, but canned mushrooms. The soup was surprisingly lacking in taste! The Eggplant dish was not spicy at all, about a 3 out of 10. Again, there was very little taste, including no hot pepper or garlic. The taste was what I’d expect from a small town in rural Idaho or Kansas, with a cook that has never had oriental food- very bland, nondescript, and unremarkable. We’ll try 3 more different dishes and hopefully, they’ll have flavor! I’ll let you know!

The food tasted great, but was pretty expensive for the portion sizes. They also put cabbage under everything which is fine but it soaks up all the sauce. Only problem with the food I had was with the fried rice, mushy and flavorless but the steamed dumplins and sauce were amazing, and the sesame and general tsos chicken were delicious. Probably wouldn’t come again as is too expensive, but if you don’t mind paying, the food and service were both great.
