Had my birthday dinner here and everything was perfect!! Not only was the food very fresh and delicious, it was absolutely an art, service was awesome, could tell that our chef and waitress were very passionate about their job. The overall vibe of this place I’d say it’s both traditional and modern Japanese, they even played classic Nintendo music ( animal crossing new horizon and super Mario’s !) loved it sooooooo much a big ++++ for me!

Look no further. This is the best omakase in SF, hands down (@others: I’m sorry I love you all too, but The Shota is simply too good). The quality of fish, ambiance, creativity, service, and beauty are all unrivaled. Come hungry, seriously. You’re gonna want to order the add-ons from the a la carte menu at the end.

unbelievably attentive and courteous staff, unbelievably decadent food. the chefs also enjoy educating about why each cut of fish is chosen and where it was procured, along with fun photos! this was the most memorable and delicious omakase experience of my life. the attention to detail is a marvel to behold, down to the unique and beautiful flatware that accompanies every course. oh, and the uni! you haven’t had uni until you’ve tried it here.

Phenomenal experience eating here. The setting is intimate with contemporary decor, all seats are counter seats. The chefs are very approchable and friendly – we learned about the food as well as enjoying eating it. The drinks pairing was very nice as well – a good mix of wine and sake and was well chosen with the dishes. Would definitely come back!

Easily one of my favorite high-end omakase meal in the city. The ambiance is quiet and clean with their all white decor. The staff is exceptional and the food is even better! The aesthetics of the food delivery from plating to the dishware always leaves me wanting more when the meal is over. Fresh fish, friendly staff, amazing experience — what more is there to ask for? Not my first time and definitely won’t be my last
