We live on the island and have had several great meals at Ultra House both in the restaurant and as takeout. The food is really good, they have a nice selection of sake and imported beers, and the staff has always been very friendly. The Tonkotsu signature ramen is delicious and takes you on a journey of tastes and textures. I personally don’t visit without grabbing some of the gyoza pork dumplings as well – they’re perfectly cooked with a crispy bottom and deliciously seasoned pork. If you don’t want ramen but still want something to warm your soul, the miso soup is delicious and fairly hearty with tofu, scallions, seaweed, and shiitake mushrooms. They also have lots of imported snacks and treats from Japan at the counter area, so it’s fun to try a few new mystery snacks each time we visit.

Best ramen on whidbey island. Small seating space inside, but you may sit outside as well. Any order comes with a mini dish of edamame.

We re-feel the japan vibes!! Worth the drive! The rắmen’s are superb. The best thing about this place is, it has a little play area on the side for kids. That really occupied our babies

We are new to Pho, but we also know excellent food and this is it. A small place but they put their heart and soul into each dish. My husband and I fight over the dumplings. The red bean desert is perfect.

The restaurant is in a very cute opeen shopping space. The interiors also look very japanese. We ordered the vegeterian ramen with kale noodle to go. The ramen had a mushroom broth but we did not like it very much. The serving size was huge and was difficult for one person to finish this.

My husband and I make a monthly pilgrimage here from the North end of Whidbey Island. The food is excellent every time. Their beer menu has grown including some delicious imported options. The shop is a bit small but has a lovely atmosphere to make up for that. Before you visit, check their hours because they’re atypical. It’s pricey but the food is worth its price. This ramen shop feels like a small slice of Japan with the authentic taste to accompany it.

This place is talked about from all over Whidbey Island. We drove an hour south from Oak Harbor to have lunch here. The Ramen was good! We ordered the Tonkotsu and an order of Gyoza’s. The only reason I’m rating it 4 stars is because I’ve had better in the PNW. Great atmosphere as well. The staff was a bunch of kids that couldn’t be older than mid 20’s. And they were all listening to 80’s music. Great choice IMO.

super yummy place! my dad says it’s the best ramen he’s had since he went to japan! i had the spicy miso ramen which was a perfect spiciness, probably equivalent to a 1 star. pork was super tender! you can also trade out ingredients, so if you don’t like something you can add more of your favs to your ramen! didn’t get a photo of the pork gyoza but they were the best gyoza i’ve ever had, soft and chewy and a little crispy on the bottom, which was perfect! lovely cute place!

Super good eats with very friendly staff and owner 🙂 Love that the ramen broth isn’t too salty and for us, the portion size is just perfect. The vegetarian broth was lighter than the pork black garlic ramen, but still had lots of creamy flavor and lots of yummy fillings. Mango ice cream mochi afterwords also hit the spot, and they have a very impressive and long list of beverages! The onigiri sampler was very good, filling and simple and each flavor was great (in particular I loved the sour plum). The fried gyoza were also juicy and crispy with a great dipping sauce. And lastly, their vegetable bowl was filling and hearty while also feeling very nutritious and nourishing. Also love their logo design and merchandise, and will be back to try their natto bowl and more ^^
