Really wish I could give this place 5 stars as I really enjoyed my food. The menu has a lot of variety. It all sounded good. I ordered the Havana Bowl and an iced tea. My bill with tip and 10% service fee was over $21. The food was delicious and very flavorful. However, the value just wasn’t there for me. It is not clear what the service fee is for. Who gets that? If you’re going to charge a mandatory service fee then that cost needs to be included in the food price. The men’s restroom was dirty… more specifically the urinal had a ring. Overall, the menu provides a lot of refreshing and cool dishes. But for a weekday lunch $21 was too much. I ordered a latte on the way out. It was a very very good latte but cost me $5 for a small after the service fee.

Food was delicious. Staff were attentive and fast. Lots of healthy and healthier options. There were pancakes made of almond and rice flour. I had nuts and fruit added. They did an excellent job infusing it all without making the texture of the pancake mushy.

Ugh! That was so disappointing. I’ve never had such a flavorless meal. Needed to add salt and hot sauce to my breakfast burrito just to taste something and i couldn’t even finish it. Keep in mind that i came in starving from the gym having skipped breakfast, no amount of hunger could bring joy to this meal.

THANK YOU Green Sage Café for carrying so many vegan options! My (non-vegan) boyfriend and I visited two days in a row because we were so satisfied. Both days I ordered the Woodstock (sprouted tofu scramble with tomatoes, tempeh “bacon”, root hash, toasted ciabatta with vegan “butter”; See attached photo) with a side of kale and onions. It was all really, REALLY good. I can’t wait to try more of your offerings. We will be returning next time we’re in Asheville!

Green sage is a beautiful restaurant. There quite a varied menu of vegan bowls, wraps and sandwiches. I had a veggie wrap but frankly it was kind of thin, just not much food in it. It tasted good, and I don’t eat much, so it was perfect for me. Just letting everyone know to maybe get the full size instead of a half size wrap.

Let me start off by talking about how they didn’t have tomatoes for my soup which was some kind of curry soup.not worth remembering. No flavor .. baby food tastes better than this. Salad was great but my food took like 25 minutes to come out. My sister ordered the Buddha bowl which gave her the major runs. Healthy or not, the food was overpriced for what you get.

I like the menu and the food is pretty good. I like that all natural and organic ingredients are used, and this is worth paying for. However, the 10% service fee is completely uncalled for. I understand and appreciate that the owners would like to pay their staff more, but this is not the way. My suggestion, as a fellow small business owner, would be to find other avenues to offer employees a higher wage if that’s the aim of the business. Tacking on 10% extra AND asking for tips is very off putting, and everyone I’ve talked to agrees. Drop this fee and find somewhere else in your bottom line to increase your employees wages!

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town, but lately they’re just not cutting it. They’ve implemented their “10% service fee” on everything which is just simply tacked on to the price, much like tickets from Ticketmaster or an airline, rather than just increasing all of their prices. I’ve never heard of a restaurant doing this. I don’t care if it’s to pay your employees more…just be upfront and increase your price already and pay them what you will. Your customers aren’t buying the food from you because of what you pay your employees. They’re buying it from you because they think it’s a better value than your competition. On my last visit I ordered a hamburger and fries with water to drink and it was almost $18. Last time I checked that’s what I paid at Biltmore. Unfortunately the burger was much smaller than it has been in the past and left me still plenty hungry. So now we are paying more for a smaller amount of food. This is used to be one of the best options in North Asheville, but I’m afraid with this new business model they are destined for the same fate as their Westgate location.
