Hatch used to be our go-to spot for special occasions and date nights, but our recent visit left us feeling a bit disappointed. While the atmosphere and downtown LA view were still as lovely as ever, the food quality and taste didn’t quite meet our expectations. We had heard so much about the black karage chicken and were surprised by how unappetizing it looked, but the taste was surprisingly delicious. The bone marrow dish was also quite good.

Absolutely amazing food. Very flavourful and thoughtful plating. Their hot sauce is a game changer, not too hot and really brings out the flavour. Would have taken more/better photos but we couldn’t contain ourselves!

Just had lunch here. Basically EVERYTHING about the meal was perfect. Fantastic staff, incredibly well balanced flavors – had spare ribs, karaage, corn and mushroom yakitori- and really great, understated vibe. But the cocktails sealed the deal – they were absolutely next level. Can’t wait to go back!

Finally made it down to HATCh from having saved it as a want to go spot a while ago. Service was exceptional with the staff being welcoming and attentive. Both drinks and food were top tier. This is a summary of what we had.

This was so delicious!! The only disappointment was the eggplant. The skin on the eggplant was not scored and was very tough. The squid ink karaage was amazing!! The spare ribs fell off the bone, and the lengua was SO good!!

Hatch is a Yakitori/Bar restaurant located at The Bloc in DTLA. I love going here for lunch since 2019 and till now. Food and service is good. They’re always busy but you can be seated faster if you will make a reservation. Inside the restaurant you’ll notice the bright and dark side – ☯️ it’s the YinYang. They will be celebrating their anniversary so try to stop by and try their yakitoris and cocktails as well. Great place to hang out too even on a weekend.

Featured on 2022 DineLA list, I spared no expense to come dine at HATCH LA, as their yakitori styled dishes were beautifully plated and delicious. The DineLA list for 2023 featured HATCH LA again, but if you’re ever curious of checking this place out as an a la carte option, I’d highly recommend it as well.
