I had lunch at Opie’s on Florida Blvd. The place been opened for 3 weeks. The staff were friendly. I had the smoke burger, cabbage and green beans. The burger had a good smokey taste. I would come back again.

Delicious and exceptional service! The boudin balls and boudin egg rolls were amazing. My husband wanted a special order which they normally don’t do but they were able to make it happen for him anyway which he greatly appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Food is amazingly delicious. Service is always great. Sometimes you have to wait a little to order and for your plate food but it’s totally fine because it’s fresh and I’m okay with that. Drive thru is always a pleasure. Who ever answers the window, no matter who it is, is always cheerful and always a pleasant interaction.

Usually the food is great, but this was my first time ordering the brisket sandwich. At 11:10AM, the bun was hard (stale), the meat was very coarsely chopped and was nearly all fatty chunks that I had to spit out. Couldn’t finish the sandwich, and had to throw it out. The sauce was sub-par, way too sweet with no other flavor to balance it. I will be sticking to my own Memphis BBQ off my own smoker and pit. Maybe you could start by slicing the brisket on a meat slicer for the sandwich, not chopping it into 1 inch chunks? Less waste, and a better way to eat it on a sandwich.. just a thought from a Memphis chef? Also some different options for a sauce.. Memphis Heat, Kansas City Sweet, Carolina Vinegar, and Texas Smokehouse? Adding some fresh slaw on the sandwich would be good too.

Finally some good catfish within a mile of the new Amazon. Got the fish and shrimp plate. The owner introduced himself when I walked in and apologized for being out of cracklings.

This was our first trip to Opie’s. We went to try their cracklings and boudin. The restaurant was clean and spacious. It was not crowded and was busy. The cracklings were different than I expected, they are basically smoked pork belly. They had a good taste although very different than traditional cracklings. The boudin was delicious and a good price. I recommend giving them a try.
