We had such a great time. My mom had never been to a dinner like this before, and honestly, she won’t stop talking about 🙂

OK, it’s been almost a week since we ate at Mas and I’m still thinking about the food. Each tasting course is a parade of flavors and palate sensations that you won’t easily forget. In fact the word food seems like an understatement! Josh is able to balance flavors in such a way that you taste the unfamiliar while also experiencing food memories at the same time. This is all achieved in a comfortable, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Josh, Evan and Ellie work in such Harmony that it truly enhances the dining experience. Thank you. Can’t wait to return.

Drop everything and get to Ashland ASAP to dine at MÄS. I am a food inspired traveler, and have spent the past 10 years of my life exploring every corner of the USA and the world for the best dining experiences. I have dined at many 1, 2, and 3 Michelin starred (and many unstarred) restaurants on 5 continents (Australia isn’t covered by a Michelin guide), and without a doubt MÄS is one of my all time favorite meals. Washington and Oregon state also are not covered by a Michelin guide, so one begins to wonder, are Michelin stars even relevant? Because MÄS would definitely have some stars if it were possible. Every dish was a perfect bomb of umami (excluding dessert) that left nothing to be desired. Josh has put so much thought and creativity into amplifying and blending all of the multi faceted and intricate flavors and textures (I’ve never had crunchy seaweed in a soup before!) The Hokkaido scallop made me teary eyed, and it is almost impossible for me to be impressed. Something about the intimacy of a small group at a chef’s counter definitely stirs my soul, and I am going to continue to seek out experiences like this. Oh, and, Josh has better taste in wine than anyone I’ve ever met. I’m already dreaming of the day I get to come back.

First off, you’ll spend $195 per person + tax + $5 service fee + 20% tax plus $150 alcohol drinks (two can share). If you can get past that, Mas will blow your taste buds apart. What a unique culinary experience. 3 tables (10 people) plus bar (another 10) at a time. 2+ hours of an 11 course adventure with no selections no substitutions. Head chef and owner Joshua experiments with fresh and local ingredients and concocts mouthwatering creations that cannot be beat. Small servings fill you up, each unique and tasty. Very recommended if you want a once in a lifetime meal for that special occasion that will live in your memories. Of course, it’s so good, you’ll find a way to return. I will.

Josh is an amazing chef, visionary and an embracer of all things local and fresh. So impressed with the dining experience tonight as well as the wine pairing selections. We’ve eaten at Thomas Keller’s French Laundry and this is a far better experience from the food offerings to intimacy!

The best food I’ve ever had. Not sure what else to say. It was amazing! Josh explained every dish very well and the drink pairings were perfect. Next time I plan a trip to Ashland, Mas will be the first place I make a reservation.

If you can imagine the pure, uninhibited joy you felt as a child the very first time you tasted something like potato chips or ice cream…at Mas, I had the opportunity to re-experience that utter delight as an adult. I am a self-trained chef and I love food to the depths of my soul. Yet I experienced depths of flavor the likes of which I could not have conceived before tonight.

Extraordinary. A great surprise. Super top shelf dining that would be at home anywhere in New York / SF / Vegas Strip. Every dish was exceptional with a shout out to the Unagi/Custard/Caviar dish and the Wagyu Potato dish. The wine pairing was spot on and delivered by the Chef proprietor to boot. The biggest differentiator may have been how they thread the needle between elegant and casual, creating total classy comfort.
