It was a very fun atmosphere and the staff were genuinely friendly and attentive w/o being overbearing. That said, it was very expensive for the quality and amount of food. It was unique and very tasty. Disappointingly, we sat at the chef’s counter and noticed that many of the dishes sat too long at the counter before being taking the food out to the guests. Simply put, many of our dishes were cold. That was very surprising, especially from 2 Michelin Star Restaurant. It was a very nice experience, but it wasn’t worth the money. Most of the food was really good, not excellent. Sorry for them and their guests. We enjoyed the food and experience better at the Masseria chef’s counter, 1 Michelin star. Oh well.

From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave, Pineapple and Pearls is a special experience. A hand crafted cocktail is made as you check in. Pictures are taken. Then you are whisked away to a lovely dining room that allows a clear view of the kitchen. There are only a few tables but tons of staff that have thought of everything to make your dining experience not only truly fine dining, but approachable and fun. The play list had us dancing in our seats. We were a party of six and there for a birthday celebration. So our three course meal started with champagne, followed by purses of caviar. The champagne was served in very delicate flutes. I will not ruin how the caviar was served but it was unexpected and delicious. As was each aspect of our meal. The thought, creativity and finishing touches were present with each successive dish. The flavor, preparation and presentation were pitch perfect. Our host spoiled us with the wine pairing for our meal. The sommelier was amazingly knowledgeable and thoughtful in her descriptions of each selection. It really added a nice layer to our enjoyment. Plus, she was super fun. I highly recommend experiencing Pineapple and Pearls. And no matter how full you might feel, you must get the truffle and caviar sundae as an additional dessert. It’s simply delicious. I will do my best to recreate it for my Christmas dinner. It was otherworldly and worth being overfull. There’s even an additional surprise after that! Enjoy!!!! A special note about the servers. They are excellent at their jobs and truly seem to like one another and work as a team. We all noticed and it made our experience that much more delightful!

This might be one of the worst meals I’ve ever had.

I loved the theatrics and the ambiance of Pineapple and Pearls. We came in and were met with some pre dinner cocktails. They took our photo in the front with a charming Polaroid camera and made sure to take enough to give to both me and my mom. We came here for my birthday and there was a cute little card for me at the table. Cosmo and Aaryn were wonderful throughout the whole experience along with other staff.

One thing I would say is, it is a bit pricier than it could be for the amount of food. But I will say, surprisingly full and great service throughout the night. I would say the flavors of the courses started to fall a bit flat as the courses kept coming. But I don’t expect Every course on a tasting menu to be amazing. As long as some of them have a wow factor. The small bites and appetizer was great. Best Gnocchi I’ve ever had. Lobster cooked really well and tasted great. And I LOVED the pimento cheese puffs (gougeres?). I could eat that for days. But for the meat dish, the cooking and flavor wasn’t the greatest and the dessert I felt tasted ok, more concentrated on presentation & gastronomy than flavor. But as a full package, definitely worth a trip, a good experience, and definitely Top 5 Michelins in the DC area.

Pineapple and Pearls lived up to its reputation. I did not get to visit when the resturant was using its old format. The resturant atmosphere is light and fun with purple balloons on the ceiling. The kitchen crew were friendly and I chatted with a few during my meal. The workers were diverse and had parador of men to women. Alek, who was the head chef was such a warm and genuine person. The resturant made no mistakes that I could tell, but the kitchen felt a little disorganized for a two star. You get to pick your courses from a few options. I don’t really like that and prefer when the meal is picked by the chef. I was a solo diner and they treated me very well. They gave me both gnocchi and ravioli so I didn’t have to choose. That was a nice touch. So the food and ambience lived up to reputation, but the diner was short with only a 4 courses. I prefer longer meals with many courses. Would come again with friends.

What a wild ride! This is not your average upscale dining expirience. No gentle harps playing in the background no stuffy butlers attending on you.

One of the most memorable experiences. The experience started even before we got there. The way the restaurant communicated with us via email prior to arrival to capture preferences and any restrictions and how they welcomed us was top notch. Upon arrival the way we were greeted and treated made us feel special. From there on every interaction with the staff, the savory experiences, the ambience, made for one of the best expensive we have had at a restaurant in our lives around the world. Upon departure you still get more food to take with you that is completely mouth watering. I highly recommend this restaurant. And I hope to return soon.

Came here for my birthday and it was a the fine dining experience that I was looking for! Cosmo, Benjamin and Justin were our main servers. They provided an eloquent dining service with the right amount of flare and comedy that made it a phenomenal experience. Not only did I get the a Michelin star experience but all the associates added their own personal pizzazz. Lane made the most amazing expresso drink (adffogato). Ridley made some amazing cocktails. Leslie was also amazing as well and Shacai as the both adapted so well with me peppering them with questions about the meals that they brought out. The overall experience was one worth the price. And the customer service was worth all the hype. Highly recommend.
