I ordered several pizzas at 12:10 pm to be ready for 1:15 pm. 38 minutes later, at 12:48 pm, I got a call while I was driving to my staff meeting that they did not have gluten-free pizza crust. Half of my staff do physical work for 5 hours and come off shift feeling extremely hungry and half do 5-hours after the staff meeting. I have several gluten-free/vegan staff and I had searched multiple places to order from before ordering from Papa Johns because Papa Johns theoretically provided me with good options for dietary restrictions. Thus, when I was told while driving to my staff meeting that I could not have the pizza to fulfill the dietary restrictions, it was extremely frustrating. Not only that, but it turned out that unless I wanted to, “Get something else,” or, “Have a free pizza for next time,” I had to cancel the whole order. There was no option to just cancel the gluten-free order. In the end, this left me with zero options for my staff for lunch and about 15 minutes to figure out an alternative option once I arrived at the workplace. As we all know, delivery takes far longer than 15 minutes, so it was a total mess. I had meeting prep to do when I arrived that I could not do, and I had to find another place that would accommodate those in my staff with dietary restrictions. So, aside from the fact that it was an hour after the meeting started when my staff could eat, my meeting was significantly less efficient because we had to stop to get food and eat, I didn’t have time to prep a projector to share some of the agenda items, and I hadn’t printed out some items that I needed.

Something changed over the past 1-3 years with this franchise. I used to rank Papa John’s #1 for pizza quality, but not any longer. The ordering process with the app went smoothly and the pizza was ready in a timely manner. It seems like they lost their focus on the customer.

Worst experience ever. The app told me it was ready. Came in and it wasn’t. Waited 20 minutes before they realized they never made the pizza. Waited another 30 minutes before they told me they never made it again. Multiple times in that 30 minutes they said it was in the oven. Then they just gave me attitude and acted like my time didn’t matter or their lies. It was just one pepperoni pizza and they couldn’t seem to make that.

I had an order of nearly 20 pizzas for my child’s birthday party. They open at 10, order was for 11. No one showed up until 11:05 and told me it would be over an hour to make my pizzas. No email, text, nothing. I had to miss most of my kids birthday party driving around trying to find an alternative. I’m writing this in the McD parking lot. I asked if they could make them fast and deliver them to me, she told me a $6 delivery fee would apply. Really!? I really hope they offer me a credit for future purchases l because that is completely infuriating. How am is supposed to feed 50 people on fast food?
