I had the grilled lobster tails. They were small, but 3 of them got me full for sure. Loved that they were grilled. My son got the salmon, and it was great as well. My wife got the shrimp gumbo, and it was very good as well. Could have had a few more shrimp. Sue also got the blackend scallops very tender and great seasoning. Also had the seared tuna as an appetizer. I could eat that as my meal .lol

Ordered on doordash… paid $8 for the gumbo and the container wasn’t even full it looked like someone ate 1/2 of it. And the nachos were suppose to have crawfish and they didn’t.

Great experience. We had the chicken Alfredo pasta and the gator steak. Very delicious. Outstanding service. I totally recommend this restaurant.

My fiancé and I ate here and both loved it. I had the jambalaya and she had shrimp gumbo. Along with this we had the gator cakes for starters and bread pudding for desert. I can say that the food is really good and reasonably priced. Even the drinks were really good and very cheap (which was surprising). As a creole/Cajun person, I eat at restaurants that sell Cajun food this far north from the gulf coast with some skepticism but see that Lazy Gator is very satisfactory in quality of their food. I can say the only thing I would change is for the jambalaya and gumbo to have just a tad more rice.

Food was edible, but then again, so is a McChicken. Definitely prefer other Cajun places in Amarillo. Service was highly lacking and portion size left me hungry. This was the second chance I gave the place and can’t say I will be back.

We found this place on a trip to Amarillo a couple of months ago while on a house hunting trip, we tried it and really enjoyed the experience. We moved to Amarillo last week and decided to go back to the Lazy Gator tonight. The food again was very good, the server was outstanding and we enjoyed the atmosphere but there were two issues my wife and I did not appreciate. The first was being charged $1.66 for not paying cash and then being charged $2.99 for a cup of rice, the amount of rice my wife got would fit in the palm of your hand with room left over. My wife ordered Scarlet Scampi (Shrimp) which is normally served with pasta or one of several types of rice, This dish at the Lazy Gator was served in a bowl with a spoon, not even a piece of bread.

Great Cajun experience, love the atmosphere and the food was delicious. Servers and all staff are very friendly. We had the frog legs, gator tail, gator steak, gator Alfredo pasta and gator gumbo. I would highly reccomend all. Portion sizes are on the large side. The fries are amazing too.

Was jonesing for a bowl of gumbo. Googled Cajun food and was directed to the Lazy Gator. The menu had all my favorites and really made the decision process difficult. Our waitress was spicy and made the experience delightful. Seriously good Crawfish gumbo. Gator bites were on point as well as the blue cheese salad wedge. I don’t live in Amarillo, but so far, the food scene has me wanting to come back.
