A must try. Beautifully plated and delicious food. Great cocktail menu and friendly helpful bartenders. This was my second time here and I will definitely return. Steak was cooked exactly as ordered and seasoned well, as good as if we were at a steakhouse. Beet salad needs to be tasted to appreciate how good it is. Gnocchi is very different than I have had before but very good. Short rib appetizer was excellent, moist and flavorful. Have not had many olive cakes so likely not the best judge but it was okay. Highly highly recommend if you are looking for upscale dining at reasonable prices in a friendly atmosphere.

Jennifer was a great server! Nice, cozy ambiance. Food and drinks were delicious. It is pricy for the portion sizes but that’s typical for an upscale restaurant. I recommend the “More Dark, More Handsome” drink which was like an espresso martini. Salmon was cooked perfectly I just wish it came with more of the potato puree. My friends had the citrus beet salad and braised short rib with polenta (both are appetizers).

You know a place is good when you’re there just about every week. This black owned restaurant is fine dining at its best!!! From the time you walk in you feel welcomed and greeted by Mr. Wesley.

I have not dined in a restaurant in ct where everything we ordered was mouthwatering tasty! Impeccable! It was 11 of us , not a large menu yet. We all tasted something from each other so we almost had the whole menu at our table. AMAZING!

My partner took me here as a surprise for my birthday and it exceeded our expectations. He lives in the area, so we’d always end up walk by while the restaurant was getting renovated before it opened, so we’re both happy the food was just as good as we imagined.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Just open 10 months, this family run restaurant with a masterful self-taught chef, arguably served the best meal I have had in years, so good Michelin better take notice. We have already reserved our seats for the 6-course meal next Friday, and there is still room if you want a fantastic dining experience. The scallops were cooked to perfection, the short ribs were tender and flavorful, the curried muscles were drunk with subtle spices and if you think the Caesar salad cannot be innovated, think again…I will be dreaming about this salad all week. It was our 29th wedding anniversary and we took a chance going to this restaurant with 29 in the name, and this may have turned into one of our favorite spots. Bravo chef.

Excellent food, great atmosphere and even better service. Those are the adjectives I would use to describe this restaurant. My friends and I had the opportunity to experience this eatery this past Sunday night and it did not disappoint. We decided to take a more family style approach to the courses, so we had the opportunity to try many dishes. For starters we tried the roasted glazed carrots, Manmita’s black rice and crab, fish and pickled chilis tacos and the braised short rib polenta. The standout for the entire table was the Manmita’s black rice and crab balls, named for the owners mother, these rice balls were filled with flavor and had a rich & creamy texture . For dinner we opted to try the Smoked half bird, Smoked fried chicken sandwich, Halibut fillet and the Gnocchi. As we were dining we were informed that the concept of the restaurant is “Farm to Table” this element shines through with each dish that was presented particularly with the halibut. The halibut was placed on a smoked corn purée, which combined was a perfect marriage of the two. Another part of the dinner I enjoyed was the fact that although we ate a ton of food we did not feel overly full. This wasn’t due to the portion sizes, but due to them using vegetables in creative ways as side dishes. This innovative method of cooking should be incorporated in more restaurants. Overall, this location did not disappoint. We left satisfied and eager to return to try the rest of the menu. Kudos to the staff and owners.
