We walked in the Pelican Larry’s side and we’re greeted and served by Rachel who was friendly, sociable and truly a pleasure. When she explained that the restaurants shared a location and owner I walked over to Off The Bone to give it a try, it’s here I met Lynn who after explaining that she was irritated because she got “stuck” there as opposed to Larry’s where she normally worked, she took my order. I need to point out I was the ONLY person there. I ordered the 3 meat sampler for myself, brisket was dry and chicken and pork looked like an MRE. Wife had burnt ends not much better. The three sides I ordered, Brussels sprouts, Mac and cheese and beans. I can only speak on the sprouts which were exceptionally garlicky as the other sides never made it into my takeout order. Will be back to the bar, WONT BE BACK TI OFF THE BONE. FYI the second star was only given for the service received at the bar. Dinner was why we were there and it was ruined. No effort to make sure my order was correct, again WE WERE ONLY ONES THERE! Picture of the chicken for emphasis.

Burnt ends tasty. 1/2 lb portion pretty generous. Potato fries/curl’s different.

This some of the most disappointing BBQ I’ve had in SWFL. The whole focus seems to be on the Larry’s bar and not the food.

A group of us went to the estero location on Wednesday There was one cook and a cashier. We ordered the food but they do not have beer had to go next door to get the beer. The food arrived promptly. Only one person like there meal. The burnt ends were all fat. The ribs were fatty with little meat. Sausage sandwich did not fit the roll Brisket was cold. The brussel sprouts were loaded with grease. Mac and cheese was over cooked Mac with a greasy cheese sauce. I do not know if the cook had a bad day. One person in or party tried to complain and was treated badly. With all the BBQ places around we probably won’t be back

I’ve been told I’m harsh on BBQ restaurants, is it that or are most of the chain type places just not as good as they could be? The sausage here is the winner, everything else is lackluster.

Satisfying barbecue and a good selection of sauces. Brisket was tasty but bit dry. Ribs and sausage were good.
