The brisket is probably the best in town but theres not really any competition either. Overall the foot and service were great, and Ill def go back, just wish my food came out a bit warmer. Brisket was room temp when I got it.

THE RICE AND BEANS. This place is so full of flavor, there is nothing like this in SLC. I am from Puerto Rico and have searched long and hard for food with flavor around town, finally found it! I didn’t try the sandwhiches but Im sure they are great. We had a couple of plates with our choice of meat, rice, beans (very well cooked and flavorfilled) and fried plantains. Support this spot its amazing!

The BEST bread pudding of my life. The same can be said about the plantains. The owners were very hospitable and helpful, making sure we had everything we wanted and needed. We will definitely be coming back to the The Local just for this BBQ!

Came on a Sunday for the Dominican specials; the chicharrones were on point; juicy, full of flavor, and crispy on the outside. The smoked chicken, though, stole the show. Easily the best BBQ chicken I’ve had in SLC. In fact, it’s be best BBQ chicken I’ve had since visiting Rodney Scott’s BBQ in Charelston. The sides were exactly what I was hoping for as well – beans and rice and a little Dominican style salad reminded me of home cooked meals in the RD.

This is some of the best barbecue I’ve ever had. I’m not kidding. Stumbled in here totally by accident, was drawn by the smell and was not disappointed. Good amount of food for the price too. It feels like eating someone’s home cooking. You have a gift!!
