The location was great and the service was very good. Food was not bad. It’s a little bland but not terribly bland. Middle of the road. It was like it was smoked or made elsewhere and brought to the restaurant to serve. I did like sides, though. The Mac and cheese was simple but smokey. Look good bbq in Seattle is hard to find so this place tries hard and does its job but it’s not top of the line. I will definitely go back though

I was very disapointed in their bbq. As someone who has had bbq in a lot of the south, this didn’t hit. I had the beef brisket plate w/ mac and cheese and bbq beans as my side.

This is barbecue that most anybody can have without feeling like they need to understand the history of barbecue.

If your strategy to find this place is to drive through Dupont looking for a tin hut, you’d be mistaken. It’s actually in a small strip mall. This qualifies it to be a BBQ restaurant versus the coveted “BBQ joint”.

I recently dined at Tin Hut BBQ in DuPont, WA. I arrived at 1130 for lunch service expecting the food to be quite fresh since they open at 1100. I ordered the Meat Trio Plate along with a beverage. With a tip, my total bill came to $26.03.

Small portions. Picture is a small plate. I’m 135 lbs 5’4” and I was still so hungry after eating. It was 3 small ribs with barely any meat and very chewy. Mainly big bone. Small portion of beans. Decent sized corn bread. Wish I got teriyaki instead because I was HUNGRY lol.

Recently attended an event at Tin Hut BBQ at Eagles Pride that was put on by our city’s ROA. It was a burgers & brew night. The brew was amazing but the burger was not edible. The bun was soft, the lettuce was fresh, the tomatoes had been sliced on a slicer entirely too thin and the burger itself resembled rubber. It had a purple color to it and it had an overpowering smell of liquid smoke. There also was no cheese. The staff setting up and tending to the buffet line was loud, dropping serving dishes and looking stressed. There were approximately 50 people in attendance. I give Tin Hut BBQ at Eagle’s Pride a 1 star review based on my experience.

Food was quite pricey for limited quantities received. Service was good and friendly. Not sure if I would call it BBQ so much as meat with BBQ sauce. Smoke flavor seemed artificial and not authentic from a smoker.

I read reviews and I hesitated at first but it has been a while since I had BBQ so I gave this local business a chance…mostly because I saw the owner’s replies to complaints on Google reviews. He sounded like he took all complaints seriously and is willing to either make it right or make corrections. I know, for anyone that has had lard filled BBQ, wrapped in a brown paper bag in Texas this may not meet your standards but I thought the food was pretty good and the portions were fair. If you want to see unfair prices, go to Ferellis across the street … I love that the owner is and comes from a family of Vets. I love the Fallen/Missing Soldier table set up in the front of the restaurant as it should be and the staff seemed very friendly…cheering for this restaurant to thrive and its a YES for me! Keep adjusting and growing!… on that note, please less salt either in the seasoning for the chicken or in the bbq sauce.
