This place was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had so far in New Orleans.

Great little restaurant perfect for a small family dinner on a special occasion or a business dinner. Seafood is tasty as is the Spicy Paloma mocktail. Staff is friendly. Happy to return.

Absolutely divine meal at Zasu. Server knowledgeable and engaging, atmosphere subtle and understated, very comfortable, we ate early (5:30) so not as crowded as I am sure it gets. The Octopus and Crudo appetizers were outstanding. Menu reads easily but does not prepare you for the excellence of what you receive. The specials were fantastic and attention to detail on dietary restrictions noted through reservation were spot on. Red Snapper Entree was perfectly cooked with accompaniments of vegetables that enhanced the fish, sauce and as perfect. Most definitely will be back. We were even presented with a small beautiful side salad compliments of the chef. 5 star

While searching for a place to treat ourselves, Zasu came at the top of our choices. The menu seemed interesting and location not too far away from where we were staying. Getting the reservations to it was the most challenging part. When we got ourselves a spot, we were extremely pleased. We arrived earlier than our reserved time and seated in 10 minutes of waiting. The restaurant is very small and the noise as every other reviewers point was loud. After we gave our drink orders, we scan through the menu one more time. It was hard to choose with so many great options. We ordered salad, grilled fish and a vegetarian ravioli. All of the flavors amazed us. To top it we wanted to give a try to desserts. Pavlova was so good, fresh and crunchy. The service was attentive and accommodating to few of our requests. We were pleased with this dining experience.

Excited to spend our anniversary at Zasu due to the ratings an accolades we had reviewed for them. We got there and we were set in the middle of the room at a tiny table, I like to call the fish bowl. Ordered our drinks, which took decent time to get. Appetizer was baby octopus, with only 3 baby octopus. The beef short rib was amazing and on point. The halibut was anorexic and over cooked. We declined dessert and went to check out at which point the manager realized it was our anniversary and was kind enough to give us a passion fruit palette cleanser. I think next time… we will pass on any future JB award winners.

Every bit of food was amazing. My friend said she was going to lick the plates! Sweet potato soup was tangy and delicious. Pork cheeks melted in my mouth. I had the snapper and it was cooked perfectly. Service was excellent. Servings are small and prices big but the food was incredible.

#1 culinary highlight of NOLA. Stupidly delicious. For a moment I thought I must be stoned to enjoy the food so much (I wasn’t). I was blown away by the octopus and pork cheek appetizers. But was unprepared for the Ora King Salmon. I think perhaps the best salmon I’ve ever had.

Amazing dinner! We booked 3 top restaurants for our stay in NOLA and Zasu is the winner. The Butterfly cocktail was the perfect blend of sweet and sour. I had the Braised Short Ribs and every bite melted in my mouth. I would buy a gallon of the Tomato Jam. Excellent. My husband had the Halibut special and it was to die for. If we had tried Zasu first we would have cancelled Revolution and Fins. This place beats them hands down. What a fantastic meal. James our server was spot on and kept us happy all night. Thank you!!

Dinner for Two was about $150. Including drinks and appetizers. Get a French quarter high end restaurant experience in mid city. Have gone about 6 times over the years and it has never disappointed. Only negative I have is the 2 top tables are pretty close together so you feel a little cramped on a busy night. The booths are a little more spacious. The portions are on the smaller side but it’s still filling and the quality and flavor is amazing.

LOVED THIS LOCAL/INDEPENDENT GEM – after an exhausting day in NOLA (jazz fest 2022) I wanted to sit down and enjoy great food and wine… thank you Zasu!!! AMBIENCE- wish I had taken more pics, because this place is just cool, from the fab entrance (hidden behind a tall green hedge) to the modern take on NOLA style inside this smallish restaurant. – SERVICE – we had a great server, put a drink in our hand quickly (which I do love, don’t we all?) and guided us knowledgeably through the menu. MENU – somewhat compact menu which I love, food was as good as the descriptors, beautifully cooked and presented too BOOZE – bonus points for putting a cocktail in our hands quickly, nice hand crafted list too . Wine list also compact, as it should be, well thought out and again very fairly priced. SUMMARY – this a locally run restaurant, with the owners delivering something special, without the advantages of scale that chain restaurants have. These are the spots I gravitate to, and hope you have a similar experience to to ours!!!!
