My husband and I came for Sunday brunch while visiting in Houston. Restaurant had a DJ that played music upbeat but not so loud you couldn’t hear person across from you. Chef Marcus and waiter Daniel made sure that what I ordered was soy free and it was exceptionally delicious! The chicken fried steak rivaled my own homemade chicken fried steak. I rarely have any out because rarely satisfied with what restaurants serve. My husband had an omelette and we both left satisfied and full. I will definitely be back when in Houston.

Quite liked the breakfast, conveniently located in the Hotel. Comfy food, friendly staff and well decorated. Would recommend for room stayers to come and try once.

Overpriced brunch. Could have gone somewhere else for more bang for your buck. Got the chicken and waffle but had to send it back. The fruit had mold on it. Paying $24 for a hard waffle and chicken tenders covered in sauce. Yea could have gone to holiday Inn for a basic waffle. And juice is $6? A small glass of juice. Not even small a kids size cup. Yea, we were here for a birthday, but I wouldn’t come for a regular brunch. The environment was nice. The older black gentleman with the glasses lied to us about my meal being free. Like I said, my fruit had mold in it, and he said he would take care of it, and it would be free, but we ended up paying for it. What kind of business is that? And on top of that I only ate half of it because I couldn’t enjoy it. They put the chicken on top of the fruit on the waffle, so the waffle taste more like the honey garlic chicken strips. The waffle was hard as a rock. You’re paying for the environment. And we still left hungry!!! They need to close this place down!!

Worst dining experience I have ever had. My family visited this restaurant on Saturday morning, May 13. My wife thought it would be nice to have a nice breakfast before hitting the road. When we arrived My wife asked to be seated. We were at the entrance of the restaurant with nice tables and settings. The hotess picks up menus and says “to the back”. I thought she meant the back of the restaurant. She takes us to the bar area and we have sit on couch and 3 chairs at the smallest table I have ever seen. Keep in mind there was no one in the main restaurant, maybe one person. I guess, I should mention we are an interracial family. Back to the experience. So, we order our food and it takes over 40 minutes to receive. During that time I go to the restroom and I decide to walk through the restaurant. Not only were they seating other people (all Caucasian) most them had their food already. As I passed the another hotess he looked at me ( l am African American) like what are you doing in here. So I go back our horrible table and food is still not there. Meanwhile, I see a guy bringing food out to other tables in the area, but never our table and we ordered well before at least 2 of those tables. By the way all the other tables had Caucasian patrons. Anyway, it took the one bartender to go and retrieve our food. When the food came out it was cold and my kids food seemed like it was made from day old bread. Long story to say this is the most racist experience I have ever had dining with my family and we travel a lot. Never again would I visit this establishment. It takes one star to write a review, but I give it negative 5 stars.

Took 40 mins to get raw pork. And they forgot to bring the appetizer. But beer was tasty and seat was comfy.

Food was acceptable. The greeter was very friendly, but the servers didn’t take the order of a guest that arrived late and didn’t provide cutlery for them until prompted a few times.

Hull & Oak is a restaurant suffering from an identity crisis. It’s hidden away on the second floor of a hotel, with very little signage indicating that it exists. Once we actually found the entrance to Hull & Oak, the sense of confusion began. The host (the best employee in the entire establishment), was wonderful, and seated us at a table that needed some work done to it, as it constantly felt unstable. We checked out the decor, which was an unusual mix of seafoam green chairs that looked like they were rescued from the 1960’s, and adorable flowering cacti in small bowls. Add in some thin curtains on the windows that did nothing to hide some TV screens that were displaying advertising outside of the restaurant, music that did not go with the decor and/or the occasion (Valentine’s Day), and SUPER LOUD VOICES emanating from the kitchen, and you’ll start to understand the identity crisis issue.

This is an awesome restaurant. From the hostess Erick’ to the bartender to the cook Marcus. The entire menu was unremarkably delish!!! You have to come downtown and experience the food and staff! TK Lee the Banquet manager was EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL and had the best personality and sense of humor! Teshia was our waitress and she was the best and kept out glasses full! We had a great time!
