Marina Shores location Super cool place. Kinda a secret spot. A little hard to find so use your GPS. Serving sizes are huge (see my pics), great staff, on the water, bands, all the ingredients for a good time! Good vibes!

The location in va beach off Wesleyan has moved to Providence Square and the location is nice and the food is still good. However, I have never paid $20 for 1 crab cake. I ordered the shrimp dinner but wanted a crab cake and I figured it would be an up charge but I definitely didn’t think it would be that much. The crab cake dinner which comes with 2 sides is $21.99 and the crab cake by itself is 19.49. To me that feels like a rip off. How is the dinner just $2 more than the crab cake? I will take the blame on this because I should have looked at the menu prior to asking for the add-on but I would’ve never thought $20 for one. The waiter was polite when I asked her about it but I could definitely tell she really didn’t want to entertain my questions she answered but it definitely wasn’t the level of service and attentiveness I am accustomed to. I understand you are busy but its about how a customer walks away feeling. It would have taken her all of less than 1 minute to stop and answer my questions. I also think that it would have been helpful if she let me know when I inquired about the crab cake that the dinner was just $2 more but again, the food was good. I will absolutely stick with my normal waiter if I return. Also, I wasn’t told what the $5 charge was for but after my waiter didn’t stop to speak with me regarding my intitial questions, I didn’t want to anger myself so I just let it go and chalked it up. I rate a 3 star for the pricing and lack in customer service. I’ve been to this restaurant for years and have never walked away feeling like I felt today.

I’ve had an opportunity to dine at several Surf Rider locations but this was my first and last time dining at this location. Our party of 6 arrived and sat on their side gazebo area until we could be seated for dinner. We watched parties our size and larger be seated until we were the last. We inquired and it appeared we were overlooked. We were seated inside which is important to note is open air and does not have air conditioning. Our table was still wet from a cleaning. I was surprised to see a slight difference in the menu from other locations. Food was okay but service was a issue. No drink refills, extra napkins, we found out 1 of the items ordered was no longer available as food being delivered to the table, long wait until receiving all food order – several of us received only a portion of our meal, waited on condiments, etc. The last straw was when we wanted to order dessert and inquired what was on the menu. When our server returned to our table to share the dessert menu items we were told the dessert & salad station were closed because the person in charge of that area was gone home…what?! I think our server was more interested in finishing her shift to go celebrate her birthday. She made a point to tell us she needed to do paperwork.

We visited by boat. Plenty of slips and easy access. The food was delicious. We had steamed shrimp, crab cakes and broccoli. The rum runner is one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. Little sweet but very good.

Went to Surf Riders for an early dinner, compliments of my daughter in law. The atmosphere, the service, and the view were outstanding. The food was well proportioned for the price. And, the food tasted absolutely delicious.

I have never written a review until now. We visited this place based on recommendations from family friends. We ordered four different meals and all four were not worth the money we paid. The flounder on the Broiled seafood platter was mushy and had no flavor…the shrimp were dry and over cooked…the only thing that tasted ok were the scallops…nothing spectacular. The flounder fillet sandwich meal was extremely overcooked and dry. The broiled scallop platter meal had a baked potato that smelled old…could not eat…these scallops were undercooked. Last dish was a crab cake which was not too bad. So…one meal out of four where we paid $130 was not worth the price.

Lunch for our sister’s 71st Birthday. We had a ball! Water view was a plus. Food was good in every aspect. Our server Cassie couldn’t have been more accommodating and we hope to have her again next time.

It was loud inside – hard to hear or have a conversation, and service was slow but pleasant. A flounder fish sandwich was fried to a crisp- not really edible. The fish tacos were good –

Arrive to find a waiting list. But seeing how packed the place was, help us decide to stay. Very clean, all age groups, and the food and our waitress (Tiffany) were both outstanding. Yes we will be back.
