The location is convenient and the parking garage made finding a parking spot convenient. However, the service was lacking, and first impression were not the best. I actually had to find other servers for items such as menus, the check, etc because our waitress barely checked up on our table. For the price of the meal, I was expecting better. Ordering the two tacos, the platter was not appealing, and the portions were small for being over $20 per meal. I will give credit and say the flavor of the meat was good. However, that does not justify the high prices and poor service. Because of these factors, I would not recommend

Candente is a Tex-Mex restaurant from owner, Michael Sambrooks, which first opened its doors in Houston on September 16th, 2019 (Mexican Independence Day). The meat at Candente has a distinctive mesquite wood smoke flavor as they use an oven pit for barbecuing. Sambrooks is also owner of The Pit Room, a next-door sister restaurant, which has won a cult following for brisket-fat flour tortillas and Mexican twists on the barbecue theme.

Birria, flautas & brisket enchiladas. Everything was really good, the brisket enchiladas were probably my favorite & I don’t even eat enchiladas. Birria was expensive when you’re used to getting it authentic from food trucks. Flautas were pretty good! The refried beans had a little spicy after taste, service was fine, nice outdoor area. Only thing is parking is kinda bad.

Great food, lively atmosphere, and cold margaritas. In my opinion, better than Ninfa’s and El Tiempo. Meats are grilled or smoked. Enchiladas are little bit on the spicier side. I recommend the house or top shelf margarita on the rocks.

First time here and it won’t be the last. We came here after work for lunch. Place is nice with a lot of seating indoors and outside. Outside area is very nice and they had heaters. Food was great and the dessert was absolutely delicious. The waiter T was amazing. He gave us some good choices on what he likes and was spot on. Really great guy and good server. We will definitely be going back here and will go for happy hour.

Delicious texmex in a lovely space. Food was tasty and authentically prepared. So many delicious dishes to choose from, but this time had the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. The chili gravy was savory, and the cheese perfectly melted inside the corn tortillas. Would definitely recommend and will return to work my way through the rest of the menu! Fajitas smelled great!

One of the best redfish. Just the right seasoning, and grilled beautifully. Awesome guac. Very nice patio dining – tables have little fans that keep flies, skeeters away!
